Hi Regina, a mono spot is a blood test for antibodies to help diagnose mononucleosis. It's usually combined with other blood work such as a CBC with differential to look at the white blood cells.

My three children all had mono, each at different ages. They all had a positive mono spot and tested positive for the EBV. They were all very sick. I hope you don't have mono, and that you recover quickly from whatever syptoms you have that has required a mono spot test.

    Hey LuvMeCritters!!!!
I had positive Monospots in the 1980's and a positive Epstein-Barr result. I stopped seeing doctors before I really followed up on this. (Too tired for all the appointments and too poor for the bills)
I see my PCP and a Rheumy now, but I still don't visit them any more than ABSOLUTELY necessary.
BTY, a monospot is a BLOOD test.....no sweat!
    Be well,
    Kady
