    Happy holidays to all,
I was wondering if any one else's symptoms flare up
based on their monthly cycle? I have noticed for myself
everything aches worse as my period begins each month. Also
the headaches become worse? Please let me know?

Happy holidays to you as well. Yes, I do notice that my symptoms get worse with my cycle. Mine goes like this....I'm usually goood one week before my period arrives and for the week that I have it. The 2 weeks in between I flare really bad. Pain, aches and fatigue control me. Take care and hope you find some relief soon.

    God Bless

if it werent enough already, I have had severe pms with a wide range of symtoms long before the fibro. symptoms. All over body swelling, hot flashes, dizziness, chills, achy body, headache (jawache),fatigue, mental decline, etc. This all started after I got my tubes tied 10 years ago. I thought I knew what pms was before this, boy I didnt have a clue. Now with all the fibro. symptoms it makes it even worse. Did you have severe pms problem before fibro. also?

Yes pumy--it seems another of the systems to go haywire--with these disorders is the hormonal. First I was having periods (heavy) every two weeks....now overdue. Prior to the onset of my period...awful pms, during period, pain, achiness, and exhaustion, intensified.

She was dx with FM about 4 months ago and her periods have been getting worse, she is 29. Pain and anxiety seems to heighten.

I was only diagnosed 4 months ago....but I now know I have had fms-related period problems for a good 18 months. I was put on birth control for a while to control the pms symptoms, but after a while they stopped helping. A week before my period my allergies get really bad. Then the week of the period my fms flares severely. I feel your pain!!!!

    God bless...Good luck!

I finally had to start taking Birth Control pills this month because I was bleeding constantly. This week was my first "no-pill" week (to start my period). I am miserable with the worst flare I have ever had. As my sister-in-law says, "If we get to come back, I want to be a man!"

When I went to see a fibromyalgia specialist, I told him that my Fibromyalgia was somehow directly related to my periods because I it flares according to my cycle. He agreed and said he see's this in alot of his women patients. Usually a flare starts 10 to 12 days before I start my period and builds in intensity peaking the day I start. It's miserable!! And the PMS was totally out of control! I was having migraine headaches with every period. My doctor tested my hormones and they were all bottomed out! I am going through perimenopause at 38!! I started HRT (all natural creams made from soy) and have improved dramatically. I still have Fibromyalgia but it's better now (except for one really bad flare). I haven't had any more migraines. My PMS is barely noticable most of the time. My doctor says that Fibromyalgia can be made worse by hormone problems and I believe he's onto something there.
