I'm posting here cause this board gets the most response. Anyone here have any good gluten-free recipes? If so...would you please share them?

Anyone have problems with fluid retention when you do eat gluten?

    Thanks, Blue :)

There are entire websites and portions of websites devoted to the GF lifestyle, replete with recipes.

Tons of GF recipe blogs. Check out the blog by Gluten Free Girl. She's got great recipes -- her DH is a chef. Also many links on her blog to other sites that have GF recipes.

Many of these blogs & sites even feature "food porn" -- mouthwatering photos of the product.

Celiac Archives online is searchable & a great resource for gluten-free related questions, incl. recipes/cooking/baking.

Your public library may have some GF recipe books. I can personally attest to the wonderful recipe books by Connie Sarros, Carol Fenster, Bette Hagman, and Dana Korn. If you'd rather purchase, a good site is Gluten-Free Mall (they also have a section of recipes sent in by readers).

    That's just a starter ...

Many of us did shuck a pile of water weight when we went GF. For most of us, gluten-free isn't a lifestyle where we occasionally cheat ... for myself, the pain is too great.

    Best wishes.

One of the best websites I have come across for gluten free recipes. She also does gluten free vegetarian and vegan recipes. Amazing stuff.

Another great place you can order gluten free goodies from is Silly Yak Bakery. I believe they are in Wisconsin and they had sent me some goodies in the past to taste, it was amazing to eat a chocolate chip cookie that wouldn't put me down for days.

And yes on the fluid retention. I swell for days when I eat gluten.

except i am having some rice- maybe too restricted an approach for you, but i sure am getting great benefits from it seems to me.

one excellent mainstay for me is having yogurt-fruit-stevia blender drink with fresh-ground flax seeds. i have it daily for one of my meals. i put carob in and it's like a milkshake. i put some almond milk along with yogurt (low fat/non-fat)

a good thickener to make gravy/sauces with is kudzu (health food store).

stir-fry of shrimp and fish seasoned with garlic and ginger over rice- with lots of vegs added in.

there are a few suggestions! i don't miss wheat at all. now when i walk in to get a take-out decaff and see all the pastries, my mind says, "Poison!" - they don't appeal to me at all.

I have a helper who cuts up apples, grapefruit, peaches (in very small pieces), & makes a gf pancake mix. Eat those daily. Delicious & safe for me.
