Just heard from daughter via email that the surgery was canceled and she had to talk to the doctor late today. Another biopsy was done after the MRI before the Lumpectomy was supposed to be done. They must have found something else so more extensive surgery MAY be neededIF it is positive.

    More later on .

Thank you all for any prayers or good thoughts.

    Blessings to all,
    Granni

Sounds like bad news but they canceled the surgery for tomorrow. She will be talking to the surgeon/specialist later today. I am guessing they found something else when they did the MRI so will have to do more extensive surgery than the Lumpectomy.

Will let you know when I hear more. Keep praying and sending up good thoughts. ! That has to be a ckick in the head and everywhere else.

Thanks Jam and whoever else may have posted .

    Hugz,

At least they didn't know what it was or haven't told her yet. She thinks she will find out about the biopsy on Wednesday. Maybe they will tell her earlier. Her surgeon is going out of the country to Africa on Thursday for 3 weeks. So, she may have to go with another surgeon as she wants to get whatever out NOW !! You psysch yourself up for the surgery on a certain date and then it is canceled.

This will be continued. Hope she finds out sooner than Wednesday. Don't know if he could do the surgery on Thursday or not.

Please pray for negative on the biopsy ar at the most 1st stage. If it is positive and not close to the first site they won't be able to do a Lumpectomy and it will be more extensive.

Thanks for any and all prayers !

    Love,
    Granni

to all of you Freida, Joan, Mikie too I thnk and whoever else has written and sent prayers and good thoughts to me and our daughter. Now they wait for the dx on this one. Isn't one enough already ??? She was happy to hear there were prayers going around.

You are all wonderful and so precious to me ! I will let you guys know as soon as I find out and DD cannot get the news fast enough. I know how she feels as I went through something similar but there was nothing to biopsy and it dragged on and on for weeks that seemed like months with tests. Turned out to be very dense breast tissue or something weird like that.

I just got off the phone with DD. She is doing OK but was already in bed as her breast was hurting from the biopsy. Now, she cannot have the same surgeon unless she waits till the doc comes back from his 3 wk trip to Africa. The surgeon has others in his practice but this guy had 26 years under his belt.

    TTYA tomorrow.

    Love to you all,
    Granni

Why it is taking so long to get the biopsy report. Don't these people know how hard it is to have to wait like this? Prayers still going up. I pray it is good news.

I got on here today and read your thread. I am so sorry your family is going through this and seeing how canceling the surgery, having to reschedule with another doctor, and not getting the results just increases the fear and worry. Many hugs and prayers to all of your family and please know we're sending positive and loving thoughts.

she may had had the report earlier but there was supposedly a fire alarm ( that they didn;t here) and firemen and all were all over the place and they had to check everything of course

The couldn't find anything to my DD's knowledge and then they resumed the biopsy. She wasn't on the table yet just in the waiting room. When I spoke to her and got another e-mail I found that they may have the biopsy for her today instead of Wed. I sure do hope so.

Thanks to you, Twocats and othrs sending up prayers and good thoughts. They are very comforting.

DIANE - We were posting at the same time. Thanks so much for your prayers also. Hope all is going well for Heather.

    Be back later !

    Love,

    Granni

Everyone's prayers are very comforting. We are still waiting to hear form our DD who ws waiting to hear from the Doc.

I will let everyone know as soon as i know. I had gotten another e-mail today that I didn't see. The doc called and spoke to her last night. The biopsy has nodules which is usually indicative of cancer. So it most likely is cancerous but the big thing is how close it is to the first biopsied growth. If it is very small and very close to the first one they may be able to still do the Lumpectomy. If not it will be more extensive, I suspect.

Still waiting to hear from her. Hope we all don't have to wait till Wed., tomorrow. Although since the doctor did call her and tell her what was suspected last night , that is one thing. However, the closeness to the other site can make the differenece in either a Lumpectomy and more estensive surgery.

Have lots of prayers going up from lots of people, including my church choir and small singing group. Everyone is important.

    Love you awl ,

I'm still waiting or should I say we're waiting. Every time the phone rings I think it is she. If she hasn't heard from the doctor yet, I know she is anxiously waiting too. She may also be talking to anothr surgeon since hers leaves for Africa for 3 weeks. She doesn't want to have to wait around for that long. I do not blame her.

I appreciate your good thoughts, prayers and everyone elses SOOOO much !

will certainly be said for your DD, you, hubby and the rest of the family. I also pray she gets a good doctor who is proactive with this. I know the waiting is always the hardest part, and is very stressful...not what any of you need!

Bless your heart, being a mother is sooo difficult at times, isn't it? Wishing you all well. Hugs...Jole

My poor #2 daughter's timing is so bad (of course none of it is her fault).

My daughter just spoke to the doctor this afternoon and she is now relaying everything that he told her to her DH. It sounds like she may be on the borderline between lumpectomy and Mastectomy. He leaves for Africa tomorrow. She could go with another doctor but he also mentioned a 2nd opinion clinic that they have every Tuesday. Of course this coming tuesday is already filled up. If she goes to the next one that would be on the 7th of August. That would be only a week before her surgeon comes home.

So, I think she is going to probably stay with him and go with what he says. If she calls tomorrow and tells the dr.'s office they may even put her on the books for surgery. Of course not sure yet of what she will have but thinking it may very well be mastectomy. She sounded pretty good on the phone so I am happy about that. To bad that she couldn't go to this coming Tuesdays clinic which could have been helpful but oh, well !!

Wish I lived closer to help her but I wouldn't be much help to her in a strange place, and the way I feel. She lives in N.C.

Will post more when I know what is what for sure.

    Love to awl,
    Granni

Oh granni-------I am so sorry about all of this waiting, waiting, and not knowing just how bad it could be! i pray for your daughter, and you too. Being a mom and so far away is so difficult. May the Lord bless your family!

It seems as if when an important time arrives, the drs. go on vacation, etc. I wish I could find words to convey just how I feel for you and your dear daughter. All I can say is---------I am so sorry, I will continue to pray for all of you, and God be with you!

    Love and Gentle Hugs,

    Lilac

The bad part is that she lives away from everyone in N.C. If I felt well enough with less pain and better b /p I might go and help her but I can't. Then I feel guilty when my mom was so ill. Thank God for my brother and sil who were so good with her

Thank you so much for your sweet and thoughtful posts. They are very much appreciated. I'm glad that she sounded pretty good when I spoke to her this afternoon.

    More later.

    Love,
    Granni
