I've moved some of our fun posts over from another board. I hope I didn't miss anyone's post. (My first time moving posts on here!)

    A Little Doctor Humor:

A man goes to see his doctor. "Doctor, I can't stop singing "The Green Green Grass of Home!"

Well, you must have Tom Jones Syndrome. ( TJS )

    Is it common?

    Well, "It's Not Unusual" !

    Badda Bing!

Oh, GB. You're such a scamp! "Badda" Bing reminds me of Vadda which reminds me
of Darth Vader. If Ella Fitzgerald had married him, she would have become Ella Vader.

    BTW, Tom Jones and I have a lot in common. We both have ancestors from Wales;
we were born one month apart; he's had lottsa hit records, and I've been hit with
lottsa life's cruel blows. Rim shot!

(Hope the Ella Vader joke gave you a lift.)

Rock, Nice to know I'm not alone in my "scampiness"! :) If we laugh a lot we don't cry a lot, right?

Ella Vader. Very good one. Do I sense a possible new game here? GB

    Okay, I can't resist.

If Ginger Rogers had married Sgt. Pepper she'd be Ginger Pepper.

If Poppy Montgomery had married W.C. Fields she'd be Poppy Fields.

If Carrie Underwood had married Jack Oakie she's be Carrie Oakie.

If Belle Starr had married Timothy Bottoms she'd be Belle Bottoms.

If Faith Hill had married Bob Hope she'd be Faith Hope.

If Sandy Duncan had married Pauly Shore she'd be Sandy Shore

Dar, Cute Frivolous Sayings! Ha Ha!

I forgot what I posted, GB. I remember there was something about a Dolly
Parton song. Have ta look at my scribbled notes, and see if I can reconstruct.

Just got back from the library. Saw some ducks and a cattle egret in the park on
the way home. And the lotus flowers are still in bloom. Have been for the last
    3 months or so.

Soul, "Labracadabrador" must be a Dutch word. I think over here we would
    say "poodle".

Got a book on the Civil War at the library. I read a couple books several years
ago on the same topic. Found two of my ancestors/relatives mentioned therein.

Anyway the current book has the best example of brother fighting brother during
the Civil War. John Crittenden was a Senator who had held numerous political
offices including Governor of Kentucky, "that dark and bloody ground".

Crittenden's sons George and Thomas both became major generals. One of the
North and one for the South. This also illustrates a point that is still
valid today. If you want to have a successful career in the military, it is
of considerable help if your father occupies a high political office.

Poodle? Labradoodle? What's the magic in poodle? And nope it's not a Dutch word. Don't you say labrador? and abracadabra. In Dutch we use hokus pokus pilatus pas more as magic words :p but that doesn't fit so well in a dog species...

Soul, my post was intended to be silly. Nothing profound or clever about it. Alas.
I will strive to do better next time.

Glad to see you feel up to posting.

No worries Rock, keep being your witty self, at times I'll get it, at times I won't but that's just my foggy brain playing tricks on me, having a hard time recovering from some activities in august that where to close together...

I bet the Labracadabradoodle has some magic powers too :p
