Somebody said that High Schools should teach movies rather than
literature. After all, more people watch movies. At any rate, we
have a shared cultural history in the movies. Do you recognize
any of these? Remember in what movie you saw them?

    Hi y'all,

    I'll make a guess, or two. :)

    1. The image says "Rosebud"; so I'm guessing CITIZEN KANE?

    3. Well, if memory serves me correctly........ Harry Potter movie(s), maybe from the Quidditch games (the flying broomstick)?

That's my contribution. I don't think that I recognize the other pics.

    Great game Rock.

    Hugs, Diane

Very good, Diane. And here's a pic of a third means of transportation.
What movie is this from? Here's a clue. One of the most famous planes
in America. In 1965 I stood under it.

And a photo from another 50s film.

    Good game Rock.

#1 Citizen Kane would be my guess also

#2 Maybe Davy Crockett's coon skin cap?

#5 Looks like the Red Ryder from a Christmas movie, my daughters favorite movie, "A Christmas Story"?

#6 "The African Queen" Humphrey Bogart/Katherine Hepburn

#7 Maybe The Enola Gay ?

    #8 "The Glass Menagerie"

Molton bene, GB. You got them all right except number 7. Both of
the planes are famous, and both are in the Smithsonian.

Did you see the news from a couple years ago about the African Queen? It
was found and restored. The boat is steam powdered. Built a century ago
in England, it now resides in Key Largo, Florida. For $50 you can take
    a ride in it.

    Here are some costumes/stars.

#10 Pee Wee Herman (Pee Wee's Big Adventure)

#11 Grace Kelly (love those '50's dresses) Don't know which film it's from, maybe High Society or To Catch a Thief? * Think I found it, The Rear Window.

    #12 Maybe Elvira or Morticia?

    About 50's movie dresses:

Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn and Deborah Kerr all wore some of the most beautiful clothes in their movies. I saw An Affair To Remember the other night on tv and noticed that Deborah's dress looked orange. I remember it from the original movie as being rose/mauve and gray. Maybe they colorized it again?

    Hi GB

Yup, Pee Wee, Grace, and Morticia are all correct. Don't know if Deborah's
gown was originally orange or not. But I commented in an earlier post that
orange generally doesn't look good on anybody unless it's Halloween.

Number 9 is Rosalind Russell who usually looked very elegant. I guess
this hat was from her Bing Cherry period.
