I included my Aunt Mary Ellen for prayers this week. I just heard from my cousin that she has been admitted to the hospital tonight (Friday, Nov.17) and he is asking for prayers. I know the family is very worried. She has been through many, many things in her life. She is quite a woman. She has raised 7 children and is a very special person. She and my uncle are Christians. She will be undergoing tests. She has lost a lot of weight and I don't think they know what is going on right now but is suspecting this spider bite by a brown recluse. Even though this happend three years ago she never had the proper treatment. Thank you all for your prayer support and encouragement to me.

    Love,
    Nancy

I am not feeling very well tonight so I will make this sort of short. I did read your post and I am so sorry you are going through this again. I pray for you every morning and I will pray for you tonight regarding your bo. I have had a lot of experience with this type of situation except it was with a friend. It is a hard place to be in so I sympathize. Take care and know that you are never alone.

Will be in prayer again for your dear aunt, and those doctors that are attending to her needs.

I do know what its like to be bit by a spider. I had it happen twice, first time it was a spider from Asia, it was in a plant I bought. It took me four months to recover, and I lost fifteen pounds in the process, my finger tips were numb for six months afterwards, and I was deadly sick.

Since I am very allergic to antibotics, I bathed the bits (I had over twenty of them from my shoulder to my finger tips) in Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar, that is probably what saved my life.

The second time, I was changing an outdoor flood light, and again got bit by a spider I did not see or feel, but this time it was on one hand. I put the vinegar on it as soon as I realized I had been bitten. It still took two weeks to heal. It was swollen horrible, hurt, burned, and itched. Too everything in my not to scratch it till it bled.

I will keep your aunt in my prayers, its horrible to be bitten by these things.

If you know AcesNanna, she is the one who told me about the vinegar, otherwise I think I would have died from the venom from the spiders.

Her husband was bitten by a Brown Recluse like your aunt, and they wanted to take his leg off to stop the infection. She asked if they would let her try the vinegar first, and sure enough it worked.

God bless your sweet Christian Aunt, know that I will keep her and the doctors in my prayers, and I sincerely pray that she will be well soon. Keep us updated on how she is doing.

    God bless.........

    Shalom, Shirl

I am so sorry about your dear aunt. I will certain put her on my prayer list.

When I think that my own 14 yrs of CFS/FM could have been caused by a tick bite (Lyme disease and co-infections), it makes sense that an improperly treated spider bite could cause problems years later.

She seems to be a strong woman and I hope that they figure out what is going on with her soon.

You know I am praying. Father I ask in Jesus Name could You please come right now and turn this situation around. Please give the docs wisdom in treating this aunt and I speak healing into her body now from the crown of her head to soles of her feet. Please Lord this day let something supernatural happen in this situation that people will know that You Lord have done it. Thank you. In Jesus Name. Amen. Thanks for giving us the privelege to pray for her.
    Love ya.

It it nice to meet you. I know the people who have been on this board way longer than I have a lot of affection for you that is apparent. Thanks for responding. A member of my family is going through what you are so I can sympathize. I pray for all on this board individually every morning and I will add you to my prayers.

I am very much into alternative therapies and I do know they work. I emailed my sister about your apple cider vinegar treatment and asked her what she thinks if I bring this up to anyone in the family. One of my aunt's daughters is a nurse and I know she may think I am crazy for bringing up such a ridiculous thing. (In her mind that is). I know that apple c.v. can help a number of things. Acid relux is one of them. I am certainly going to pray about it and see how the Lord leads. I haven't heard anything today about my aunt but I will keep you all posted.

Thanks again for your prayers and sharing your awful experience. I had what they thought was a spider bite over my eye of all places. I woke up one morning and my eye was almost swollen shut. Luckily for me it was probably a garden variety spider and I was ok. I still have a knot over that eye that never went away and this happened probably 10 years ago.

    Take care.

    Love,
    Nancy

I am off to this huge craft show. I just came home to take my millions of pills and then I will shove off soon. Thanks for your prayers. I am so worried for my aunt. I have prayed for your hubby this morning. I got up early and read some posts and prayed about them already. I am so sorry to hear that yet

another one of his siblings is dealing with cancer. What a horrible thing to happen in one family like this. I have prayed that he would be able to find the inner strength to get through this long day with such a heavy heart. I will

continue to pray for him. How are you doing? I am glad your anxiety therapy is working for you. Take care and know that you and hubby are in my prayers as well as his brother.

I pray your aunt will not need surgery, would be very hard on an 85. I live in NY and I dont' think we have brown recluse spiders here, but I have read stories of how awful they are. No wonder so many of us are afraid of them.

Prayers, hugs, and blessings for your family.

I was checking the board to see if you had an update on your Aunt.

Yes, I have been around here about 7 years :), but lately I have not been too well as you can imagine.

I so thank you for your prayers, I know the Lord will take care of us all, but He does move in his own time (which is not ours).

God bless you lady, and be assured these Prayer Warriors here will continue to pray for all requests, there are some very wonderful Christians on this board, and many fine people on this entire site.

Its great to meet you too, and hope we hear from you often.

    God Bless........

PS. it would be hard to convince the medical profession that the vinegar works, but I am living proof that it does! I keep two gallons of it in the house at all times. Its great for many things, especially insect bits. It draws the venom out. [This Message was Edited on 11/18/2006]

Thanks for your post again. The latest is the doctors don't really know what is wrong. They discovered my aunt has lots of gall stones but the gastro. specialist doesn't think that is why she is so sick. She had a bad nose bleed and is extremely weak. I mentioned to my sister about the apple cider vinegar and wondered what she would think if I brought that up. Her response was not encouraging. My mom's however was more so and she said she might. My aunt is so weak my mom was right up to her face and could hardly hear her today at the hospital.

I looked up info on the brown recluse and I truly almost got sick looking at all the pictures of people who had been biten. I also realized that they can be anywhere in the country because of how mobile our society is. There were reports of bites in NY. even though they are usually in the south as you probably know.

Thanks for your input and I will pass it on when I feel like I can. I had my own encounter with a really big spider just last night after all of this with my aunt.

I was getting ready to fix dinner and this spider was on my stove right in the burner area. Long story short I was afraid to get it with a kleenex because it was so big and I was scared after hearing all of these spider bite stories.

I ended up spraying Raid (I hate chemicals of any kind)right on the stove and guess what. Instead of it killing the spider right there it crawled IN THE STOVE. Yikes.
I took a flashlight and I saw it in there all curled up but still moving. I am sure it is dead now but I am afraid to use that burner because of the Raid. What a mess.

I think I will go out and buy a new stove LOL

Thanks for your prayers and I prayed for you this morning and will continue to do so.

    Love,
    Nancy

Thanks for your prayers. The doctors are stilling testing and really not quite sure what is going on. They found gall stones but the specialists doesn't think that is the problem. Please continue to pray. She is extremely weak. My mom saw her today in the hospital and could hardly hear her speak she was so weak.

How are you doing. I remember posting to you a few weeks ago. I hope you are doing better. Take care and thanks again.

I just got off a website about brown recluse spiders and even though they are in the south and especially Arkansas there were reports of bites all over the country and even in NY. not to scare you though. Thanks for your prayers.

I am extremely concerned at this point. IV's are helping my aunt but she is still so weak my mom who saw her in the hospital today could hardly hear her even though she was right up to the bed. Please continue to pray.

How is your aunt doing tonight? I have been thinking of her and praying for her and keeping a close eye on all the spiders we have around here.

How did the craft show go? I had a chuckle out of you coming home just to swallow your millions of pills. I guess we all on this board can relate to that!

Thank you for all your prayers. It is comforting to know that you are there for us. I want to be there for you too and hope that you will ask for prayers whenever you need them.

I will pray tonight that you have the strength to get through your week at school.

We must me on here at the same time tonight. I haven't heard much. My sister went to see her today and she was asleep. She ran into my aunt's DIL and she said they really didn't know much. I cant' remmeber who I told what to but they thought that the gall stones they found were not the cause of all her problems. She has lost 40 pounds since June and not trying to either. She is extrememly weak. My mom saw her yesterday and could hardly hear her she was so weak.

I am very concerned. I am bracing myself for possibly a not so Happy Thanksgiving. I will be at my mom's during the vacation and we will have Thanksgiving dinner with my sister and her husband who live in the same town as my mom. They are about 3 hours away from me.

The craft fair was awesome. I bought this really cute solar light for outside that is a welcome sign and it has three little bunnies on it. Reminds me of my Pepper. However I checked it tonight and no light. So I don't know if I got ripped off or if it is not getting enought sun for it to work. We'll see.

My computer at school was being worked on all day so I quickly read posts tonight. I read about your BIL. Yes, that is strange that he would have surgery and not even tell anyone. I am sure this is such a burden for your hubby to deal with all of this. I sure have been praying a lot for him and for you and the whole job thing.

I remember when my Dad was not good and one of my band parent's said to me "you know it won't always be like this." I know that sounds like an obvious fact but somehow that was very comforting to me. Sometime when you are in these places it does seem like it will never get better but it always does. I just hope you all can hang on during these trials. Well my bedtime is calling me. I have been going non stop since 4:20 and I am exhausted. Take care.

Thank you for your kind words. The spider tip is a good one. This one however was in a recessed place where I couldn't do much of anything except see how BIG it was. I am usually not such a wimp. Well, ok sometimes I am when it comes to bees and spiders. LOL

I actually had the courage to light the burner tonight and there was no explosion because of the Raid so I am back in business. No new stove for me. Oh well. Nice thought though.

Take care and I hope your situation is improving.

    Love,
    Nancy
