I just rubbed my daughter on the back side of the neck. There is a pea size lump back there, and unless she is going to be a medical "oddie" like the rest of the family- I know of no lymph nodes back there. Sort of one the side, towards the back, sort of where our musle line starts. No red skin or anything. She's awfully tickelish so I can't investigate consistensy. SAhe is 20 months, my little yellin' angel! Have anyone any idea what this might be?

    Lenasvn,

Wish that I knew...but not much help. I will ask around though. I know a nurse at our church....will ask her about it tomorrow!

Bless your heart, that would be wonderful. The doc I have (blah) is also my childrens doc, not of much help in other words. Any little bit would help!

There are many parents with children there also. So someone should know something.

    Back with you tomorrow...Mama

There are lymph nodes along the neck just under and behind the ear a bit. You may also be feeling part of her vertebrae which sticks out like a little bump to the side. Does it move around when you push on it?

My daughter will be 20 months old this month, too! She's recovering from pneumonia at the moment. Man, those breathing treatments at this age are no fun!

It is not the vertebrae. It is moving some as far as I could tell (miss tickelish!). It just seemed totally out of place all by itself away from where I normally find lymphs. Hmmm,

I hope your daughter will have a speedy recovery, trying to make a 20 month old do breathing excercises,,, ahhhh (rolling my eyes!)

I read some, and if the lump is still there after3-4 weeks, it should be checked. If it goes away it is probably a swollen lymph node from some infection. I'll wait and see.

I didn't make it to church this morning or evening. I am sorry... as I told you that I would ask the nurse about your sweetie having the lump.

I did see where you added that you read up on it... and you will watch it for a few days.

Will you let us know what happens?

but you should always be cautious. I'll keep'n eye on it. She's my little angel! I was 37 when I had her. That's when my body really went downhill after she was born. I could deal with the pain and fatigue before that. Now it is far more intense. But her smile keeps me going! When I'm in bed too sick or so she'll just come and pull my hair and scratch me with her fingernails! How can I love that? LOL!

I'm sure it's nothing, but you're right to get it checked-out. Keep us posted!

I would make an Appt.with your babys'Pediatition ASAP! If he/she has any doubt about what the cause of that bump, then he/she should send you and the baby to a Specialist.

There is no telling why YOUR baby got that lump! It's probably something stupid, like an ingrown hair at that spot, but you'll never know if you don't take her to the doctor and find out for certain!

Please keep us posted - we all really care!

God Bless you and your little yellin' angel!

    Hugs,
    Sunshine
