My families Favorite Holiday Cookie

    Mexican Wedding Cake Cookies...............................
    1cup Powdered sugar
    2cups butter
    2tsp vanilla
    4cups flour
    1cup finely chopped nuts
    1/2tsp salt

    Additional Powdered sugar
    Heat oven 400 degrees, in large bowlmix,1cup powdered sugar,the butter,& vanilla.Stir in, flour, nuts, & salt, until dough holds together.

    Shape dough into 1 inch balls, place 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

    Bake 10-12 min. until set or light brown.

    Roll in the additional powdered sugar while warm.

    Cool completely on wire rack.

    Roll in powdered sugar again.

    Enjoy!!! These cookies are very yummy!!

    Those are VERY good cookies. They just about melt in your mouth -- I used to make them a long time ago in my former life (before I got sick) and forgot all about them.

    They're so easy to make too, I think I will make some as gifts this year.

    I lost my recipe for these several years ago, and couldn't remember it well enough to try it without the recipe. I am so happy to have it again!

    Here we call these "sands".

    I love the fact that these cookies are so easy to make & they don't take alot of time or energy. I am glad you all enjoy these cookies. And they do make a great gift, there aren't many people who don't like these cookies!!
