WOW - only fibro pain I've had since June 5th is a very small amount in my neck-probably from sitting at this computer too long! I haven't even used my heating pad or taken any pain meds (just a couple for surgery pain).

So, now I'm wondering if it's the osteoprocare/body balance protocol I've been on for 5 weeks. I don't know what else could have caused such an about face.

I sure hope that's it! I can live with only taking those two things & leading a normal relatively pain free life. I'm trying to get my sister to try it (she has FMS too), but she says it's too expensive. But I say, give up something else & just try it. If it makes the pain go away it's worth sacrificing something to have the $$ to buy it every month.

It is expensive but my hubby & I talked about it & decided if it improves the quality of my life then it's worth it & we'll find a way to buy it.

I think the stress of having to go through another surgery on my elbow was contributing to my fibro pain. But since the surgery on Thursday, I feel Wonderful Daughling!!!

I'm still taking the Klonopin for sleep but that's it as far as meds go.

I just had to tell you guys how well I'm doing. Wish all of you could feel this good.

    Take care.......Kathi

Just what is this OsteoProCare/BodyBalance? I can't seem to find anything on this.

Am I reading it wrong, or spelling it wrong???

    Talk to me................

I just typed what she wrote into the search
engine and I got the web page with all the
details on both products. Go to the site
    that is named liquid-nutrition.

    Shirl,

The name of the co. I buy from is called Life Force Intl. I'm not sure I'm allowed to put up their website. It's not exactly the same as the company name. Let me know if it's ok & I'll give everyone the web site.

BTW Shirl, I forgot to mention, Osteoprocare & Body Balance are two different products.

    Lynn,

I'll have to type in what you said & see what I come up with. Sometimes people that sell the product retail have their own web site, but the cost is quite abit more than if you buy it from the co.'s site.

On this program you start out at high doses & when symptoms reverse, you slowly cut back to a maintaince dose & then the cost is not quite so high.

My boss at work brought me a whole bunch of literature on the co. & products - he knows someone who uses it. I did a search on this board but found no mention of it. I was in so much pain at the time I decided to take the plunge & give it a try.

May not work for everyone, but it sure has been a God send to me.

    Take care....Kathi

Do not take this if you have a shellfish allergy.
    Chondrontin is shellfish!

I cannot take or I would end up in hospital.

You're right about the shellfish. It states right on the bottle that if you have allergy to shellfish not to take the product.

Good point, Manwithfibro. Glad you added that.

I got it, no we are not allowed to put up any URL's, that includes me.

I sure thank you. I will give it a try.

Probably Pro Health has something similar to this, I will compare the ingredients and let you know. They are always a whole lot less expensive than other companies.

I am not allergic to shellfish. I would live on shrimp and crabs if I could.

Thanks again, and I hope that arm heals quickly for you.

I need to do some checking on what your're talking about but if it's this combo, I've been taking it for over a year and haven't noticed any improvement in pain.

hi kathi, my doc told me that sometimes fm patients will experience sudden remission. as if overnight. maybe that's what happened? don't know but whatever it is i am so happy for you. only wishing it would happen more often. i think you are the first i've heard about.
    good for you!

The osteoprocare is calcium, magnesium, phosphorous, Vit. D3 & a whole bunch of other things. It does have Glucosamine Hydrochloride & Chondroitin Sulfate but they are not the main ingredients - 200 mg & 125 mg. respectively.

The Body Balance has everything your body needs in a day including Vitamins, Macra Minerals, Trace Minerals, Enzymes, Amino Acids, Essential Fatty Acids & Bioflavinoids.

So there are all kinds of things in both products. I've been taking both every day for almost 6 weeks.

    Hope this helps.

Shirl - let me know if you find anything with similar ingredients.

WOW!! That sounds too good to be true. Good for you. Can you explain the protocol you used. Thanks very much

Yes, it does seem too good to be true. I didn't know if I should mention it - didn't want to jinx myself! :)

I started out taking 2 oz. of Body Balance/day; 1 oz. in morning & 1 oz. at noon. I did make the mistake of taking 1 oz. in the late afternoon & it kept me awake all night.

With the Osteoprocare, it's a little tricker. If you take too much at one time it definetly will give you the scoots. So I started out with 1 oz a day. 1/2 oz. with breakfast & 1/2 oz. with dinner. I slowly increased to present 3 oz./day (which is 36oomg. calcium). You MUST take it with meals. If I eat a light meal I don't take it. It gives me very lose stools if I don't have a good amount of food in my stomach.

Once the symptoms reverse you are supposed to cut back to 1 oz. Osteoprocare (1200 mg. calcium) & 1 oz. Body Balance/day. to maintain your present level of health.

I haven't started to cut back yet on the Osteoprocare. I think I'll go awhile on the 3 oz. just to be sure. I surely don't want the symptoms to return.

The high dose of calcium is what is supposed to reverse the symptoms. In liquid form we absorb about 98% where as in pill form we only absorb about 10%. Quite a difference, which could explain why I wasn't feeling any better taking high doses of calcium in pill form before I started the liquid.

Even with having surgery on my arm this past Thurs. I did more work today than I've done in - well, I just don't remember when! I also think that this protocol is the reason I didn't take any pain pills on the day of surgery or the next day until in the evening. I was out planting flowers the day after surgery! Probably wouldn't have needed that pain pill except I'm sure I overdid it with the arm! I always was an overachiever! :)

If you have any other questions, let me know. Just keep in mind that what works for one doesn't always work for everyone.

THE SCOOTS??? LOL! You really cracked me up with that one!

Could you tell me how long you were taking these supplements before you actually saw significant improvement?

    Thanks

I guess I should have said diahrea sp? but i was a little foggy last night & didn't know how to spell it - apparently I still don't~ lol

I started taking the supplements on a Wed. By Fri. evening I had flu like symptoms - herxing - & that lasted till Sat. evening. Then day by day I started feeling better. Pain not as intense, some of it left quickly some lingered, headaches left almost immediately. I've heard that a lack of calcium will cause one to have headaches. The last thing to go was my neck pain & I think stress from my pending surgery had a lot to do with that. Day after surgery that pain was gone & now is very minor just if I sit at this computer too long.

    Hope this helps.

Can you email me your protocol and maybe the links. I am afraid I will somehow lose all this good info as I am a newbie here on the boards and really dont know how to use it well yet. I am in such pain and confusion. I am desperate.
    Thanks.

I have your email. Please go back & delete it from the post. Sometimes lurkers wait for someone's email & then you end up getting spam & porno. I'll email you in the next day or so with all the details.

Also, you can always print anything you want to keep for further reference. That's what I do.
