Just an update on my new doc. I had an appointment last week but wasn't able to go because of cold, sinus, flu like symptoms.
Well, I felt so bad today I as forced to go..

As she walked into the room she said you have bronchitis just by hearing me cough, I guess.

Anyway after asking about my cough etc. she began touching parts of my body, I hadn't mentioned cfs or fibro..She begans asking me questions and one was why did I wait so long to come to a doctor with my cold symptoms I began telling her how I felt most of the time and wasn't sure if I had something else..She said don't ever guess always get checked, which I liked, she looked at me and said I think you have fibro.. I was shocked, how many times have I tried to convience the doctors there is something wrong with me...

Then I preceed to tell her of my symptoms..She was very reasuring that I did have fibro/cfs she believes they are cousins like anxiety/depression...

First of all she wants to treat the bronchitis etc. then wants me to come back for a complete physical and blood work..
She said she was interesting in this mysterious disease and had actually heard of Dr. Chenney and was going to do a follow up on his latest findings about the heart..

She wants me to start, CQ10, VIt C, B Complex, Omega 3 complex, and Magnesium after I finish my antibodic..

Gee, I was impressed and to find out she wasn't a doc just the PA but I wouldn't trade her for any of the doctors I have seen..

My anxiety/depression was addressed and she said who wouldn't be depressed with this disease.. First she wants me to ger over the infection then we start working on all my other problems..She did say,I can't fix it but I will help you anyway I can.. She wanted me to bring her any info I found and she would like to see me start some type of water program..

I mentioned the intolerance to exercise and she seemed to think that it wouldn't hurt to try a water program a very low key one..

So, what do you all think? I know she doesn't have an MD by her name but she certainly was the most understanding one I have seen and seemed to know what she was doing...It sure did help me mentally..

I told her I just had to ask her how with one visit she picked up on cfs/fibro..She said I could almost tell by looking, you really don't look sick but I could tell you really felt bad and too both her sisters suffer with the dd...and she also said that she had many pts..with the same complaints and that was when she started doing more and more research on the subject and talking to other doctors...

Sorry this is so long but I am somewhat doubtful but happy...

    Thanks, greatgran

We dont have PAs in UK.

I think you have a great find there, she obviously knows what she's talking about and is honest with you.

Many people here would love to find someone like this.

Sounds like she has more than a professional intrest, but a personal interest also. She isn't likely to tire of CFS/Fibro and decide she just doesn't want to deal with it anymore. Great that she is open to reading what you bring in also. Good for you!!! Daneen

Glad you have someone you can see when needed..I feel that I will be able to do this too . After my physical and the labs she is going to do she may want to send me to a rheumy or some specialist but I hope not...Since I have seen them all with no answers just I think it might be this or that..

My PA didn't seem to have any question what so ever as to my problem...

We will see how it goes and another great thing is she is only 3 blocks from my house...

    Have a good weekend

town this weekend but as usual I stay home...

Yes it's little Ol me thats near Martinsville :)

Thats great there having the fiddlers convention there, would love to be there. I am thinking your only about 45 mins...Maybe a hour away from me...if I have that right.

Don't feel bad, I usual just have to stay on home myself. Plus it has just been so Hot and Humid...dont think I could deal!! Along with all our great symptoms, the heat just makes my feet and legs swell even worse...

Yes I do hope you get some help with your Anxiety and Depression! It sometimes takes awhile to find the right Med that will work for you. I'm still working on it myself, especially the depression part. My Anxiety has really been bad here lately...I have been having to take my full doasge of Xanax....Dont know what I would do with out good old Xanax.

Plus im just a worry wort...think I look for things to worry about sometimes. Wished I could just be more laid back about things. I often ask my husband how he does it...he is such a humble man and never seems to let alot worry him. He says no need in worring yourself...it will all work out and whatever is going to happen..will happen. Easier said then done for me.

I am so happy you found a good PA...that will help alot!! Hope you have a good day as well :)

    Keep in touch...OK

    Hugs
