    Dear Support Group,

This has been a very trying week for me!! ( I write a lot on the alzheimer's message board).

On March 9th I heard that I was denied the disability claim from my job. This claim was in appeals. I had not been paid since August 17th. This really made me sad.

Then the very next day--- I was told that I have been approved for SSD. On this one I know God had given me unsual favor. This whole process went very smoothly. I first called about this on January 22 & had my telephone interview on Feb 6th. It took two hours over the phone that day because I had so much information & I was talking poorly that day. On March 10th, the case worker for that called me & told me I had been approved as soon as I get him a birth certificate. When I do that he will tell me how much I get per month.
So I had one defeat & one victory this week---both equally as incredible to me!!!!

This week I actually drove myself to my church for the first time since July because I have not driven as much since I had what appeared to be a stroke in July....now they say it is early alzheimer's. My church is a litle further away, but not to bad---they have built some new highways & that has made it better. The area I live in has new construction of roads, bridges, homes & shopping areas constantly. I live near Dallas,Texas.

God bless you for your prayers for me this week. Please pray for guidance for me in how to fight my work disability claim.

    In His Steps, Julie

My job did not notify me of termination nor tell me my insurance was taken away. Today they told me that February 29,my employment ceased & my insurance stopped. I still would not know except I called about the status of my medical insurance. My claim was still in appeals until March 11, they notified me March 9 that I had been denied my disability claim but they did not say anything more. Isn't this illegal? I had gotten a notice from them not long ago to pay my insurance thru March 31 so I thought I would be at least covered until then. I had a diagnosis of early alzheimer's & wanted to go for a second opinion. I won the govt disability claim but not the work claim. I went to a church group tonight so it helped me. Please comment.
