I have been diagnosed with myofascial pain disorder. I am in so much pain and doctors look at me as if i am a drug seeker. Each time I flare up my jaw seems to lock up also. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do? Are there any certain medications that work better? I am going to counseling. Thanks Karen

I have to agree with Linda. I also go to a chiro who does both myofascial release and Active Release Techniques on me. In addition I see a massage therapist regularly. This combined with a combination of meds and supplements, most importantly magnesium, have helped make my pain tolerable.

try learning about trigger points that you can "release." I have read a couple and the one by Claire Davies is the best.
