NE Indiana Or Indianapolis Pain Management Doctors?

I would appreciate the names of any doctors you have been treated by, and liked, for pain management.

I am not able to see the doctor I love in my own city, due to insurance issues. There is another group that my doctor won't refer me to, because she used them and found them to cause even more pain along with not liking their arrogance.

I've driven to Indy for other specialists. If there are any other recommended doctors in central Indiana, South Bend/Elkhart, Muncie, etc., they would be worth the drive.

I'll be hoping for suggestions. I am feeling down this evening. My neck and back are having spasms which play havoc with my Fibro. Both of these are areas are severely diseased. Not trigger points or tender points, caused.

Looking forward to, hopefully, hearing from others.

    Thanks,

    Kim

I wrote a long description of my doctor in a thread called "Lisapetrison--Doc?" (something like that), which I just bumped up to the top of the list.

You should read about him thoroughly before deciding if you think he would be a good fit.

Be aware that he does not accept Medicare (and that you must sign a form stating that you will not file for Medicare when seeing him). They give you a bill, which you may submit to insurance.

I do not have fibro and thus have never used him for pain. He has a very large number of fibro patients, but I honestly don't know what treatment modalities he uses for them.

Perhaps they can tell you by telephone if you call and ask. I'm not sure how their inpatient procedure works since I've been seeing him for something like 9 years.

    Good luck!

I appreciate you bumping the post! I am not eligble for medicare, so that's not a problem.

    Thanks again!

Hi! Just curious...what Doc did you see in Indy? I live in near Indy and I am considering switching Doctors. The one I have is one of those who acts like her office is a drive-thru. In and out! Then slams me with a $200.00 plus office call charge. I have to drive an hour to get there and I just don't like all the anticipation of going then she's out of the room in a blink of an eye. I don't know of any others that I can suggest for you. I wish you luck in finding one! K-Nick

I have seen a chemo oncologist, in the late 1990's, while battling breast cancer. His name is George Sledge. I adore him. Fortunately, I haven't seen him for years!

Dr. Smith, is the rheumatologist who diagnosed my fibro. He is good, willing to listen and help. I will find his first name if you are interested.

I would love to find a good pain doctor. Not just for my fibro, but also for other problems I have.

I live in the second largest city in IN, and there is not much in the way of 'specialists'...

If it's not too much trouble to find his first name I would appreciate it. I know it's difficult finding a Doc to go to unless you get a good referral from someone who's already been to one. Kind of like a box of chocolates...you never know what you're gonna get(lol). I'm still not 100% sure I'm even going to switch Doctors but in case I do, I'd like some ideas! Thank you so much and I hope someone can help you out! K-Nick
