I am at a place where I am feeling like I am going mad. I can't handle the pain anymore. My doc is one that is on the Good Doctors list but is not helping me. He did at first(gave me ultram), but now that i need stronger medications, he isn't hearing me.
I need a doc or pain clinic that isn't afraid to minister pain medicine and will hear me and believe me. What are you taking for breakthru pain? Please help me..I am desperate.

Rhematologist: Dr. Kimberly Wilson Piedmont in downtown Atlanta. This lady is wonderful! (In practice with her husband, and I hear he is great also. I am just attached to Dr. Kimberly)...You may have a long wait to see her, both getting an appt. and on your appts. Still she is worth it. When she comes in to see you, she SEES YOU. You have her undivided attention and concern. Believe me she is great!
PCP: I use Dr. Adcox in Peachtree City. He is also educated in fibromyalgia and will not judge you. He is not Dr. Kimberly, but he is very good.
Pain Clinic: I have worked in acute care (post-op pts) with the doctors at Northside Pain Clinic. These are very caring doctors in my experience. They will not judge you, and they will try very hard to help you. It's been 3 years since I worked in nursing and 4 since I worked in pain service, so I can see their faces but do not remember the names. Just know it is an excellent service!
Hope this helps......rhonda PS Where do you live?

the doctors at Northside would remeber me as Rhonda Forbus/Housand.
Dr. Kimberly knows me as Rhonda Housand.
If you let them know I told you about them, they will know how much I admire and appreciate them.
I have just recently started using Darvocet for my pain. (Vicodin pre-op recent cervical surgery and post-op) I am considering driving to Northside for my pain management as well. I think it is time. And like I said I know, admire, and trust these doctors! Hope all goes well for you and you have positive experiences with your appts. You already know how frustrating it is to have a doctor who is not your partner. Soon, you will know how good it is to have a doctor who cares---makes it very hard to accept any less from that point on. It's like: Wow, this is what I have been missing.

My doctor was good for a while, then he got so busy..
I have to wait hours for my onocolgist, but he is awesome and is worth it.

You would probably find it as an ancillary service of Northside Hospital. The hospitals address is listed as North Johnson Ferry, I think....Also, do a search for Northside Anesthesiology Consultants. It is near the hospital, but not in it. I will also see if I can find it for you. I only visited the pain clinic once as part of my orientation. I worked with all the anesthesiologists in the hospital setting.

I would appreciate his name,at this point I am ready to try anything. Is he a specialist? I am needing someone who understands it. My regular MD use to take me seriously but has just got to busy to listen. I had cancer in 1998 and he helped me through that, so i probably keep him for other things.

he even did a nerve conduction study that I did not need because we already had the mri results of my cervical spine. He did not know the results were there even though I had asked the staff on numerous occasions if I would still need the nerve conduction study......I found his PA much more helpful than him. Even though I had numerous cervical spine deficits, he offered no help other than narcotic. He seemed too busy to answer questions. I had to ask about a cervical collar telling him that sometimes it just felt like my head needed more support. His response was an apathetic "Yeah, we can order a cervical collar," That collar helped tremendously. Wearing it, I no longer got the outrageous afternoon headaches I had been getting. He gave me no info about my condition. What I could do other than surgery. I had five questions to ask him on my last visit. I got one in while he was in the room (the cervical collar), one as he straddled the door to the hall, and the third he was in the hall. I didn't bother with the last two. Question #2 I asked if it would be okay to see a chiropractor (my husband had been very interested in that option--I talked him into waiting until I asked the neurologist since one vertebra was actually pressing on my spine, and I am at the age of osteoporosis.) Lazarus said "couldn't hurt." So glad my husband decided not to make me go (since Lazarus reply was so apathetic and non-caring) I could have been paralyzed. I had to go to a neurosurgeon to get other tx. He may be different on pain management. I just decided he was too busy for my business. Just sharing my personal experience.

I used to live outside of Duluth until 6 years ago. I also saw Dr. Kimberly Wilson. She was working part time when I saw her. Yes, she was in the same office as her hubby.

The one thing I'd caution you about is to make sure that Doctor Wilson gives you any joint injections and not her PA. I don't know if it is the same PA that she had about 7 years ago. That is when her PA injected my elbow and the PA's technique left A LOT to be desired.

Allow extra time when you go to the peachtree office as the parking lot is the pits. I don't like to park in enclosed parking. When a parking lot is enclosed like that one is, I want to park close to the entrance door to the building. If I can't, then I sit in my car until someone else parks that I feel comfortable about. Then I get out of my car and walk to the entrance while they are also walking to the entrance.

Also, make sure that you have the correct peachtree street---there are so many streets in Atlanta with the name "peachtree" in them.
