I saw a well-known pain specialist here in Minneapolis.

I have all the classic symptoms of CSF and/or Fibromyalgia. However, when the doc saw me, he did an exam and checked for the tender spots. I only have a few of them. So, I feel like I have no diagnosis and yet all the symptoms of it. And I know I am not imagining this pain.

I'm not sure what to do or think. I feel like people think I'm just making this whole thing up. That it's all in my head.

    Help!

It sounds like the doctor told you that you don’t have Fibro or CFS. If that’s so, I would see a different doctor because when my pain doctor touch the tender spots, I only had a few also. I can’t remember how many you need to have…it’s either 5 or 8. You can probably go on the National Fibromyalgia Association site to get the exact amount. The syptoms are also different. I’ve heard people with Fibro say that they get terrible headaches. While I do get headaches, they are not bad at all & I know how painful they can be because I’ve had 2 migraines in my lifetime.

My suggestion is that if you think you have Fibro or CFS, see another doctor. I can’t remember how many doctors I saw before I was finally diagnosed with anxiety & panic attacks but it took me 10 years until I found my current psychiatrist who actually listened to me & diagnosed me at my first visit.

Good luck because it can be very frustrating!!!
