and my regular PCP montors my meds and does what she can but I first went to Mark Pelligrino in Canton, Ohio. Its worth the drive and he has FM himself so he does understand and he will give you a DX in written letter form.

If you are interested, dr. Pellegrino has a book out on Fibro, the title is; Inside Fibromyalgia', its pretty good.

He also has some articles here on the 'Home' page if you are interested.

I grew up in WV, but live in TX, now. Grew up in St. Albans, went to Marshall, and CAMC School of Anesthesia.

I saw all these whiz kid, high, world-famous docs in the TX medical center, and they gave me more diagnosis than you can believe.

Finally, I researched FM, after being diagnosed with it, and found the name of Thomas Romano. HE WAS ONE OF THE RHEUMYS WHO SERVED ON THE COMMITTEE WHICH FORMULATED THE CRITERIA FOR FM.

    He is VERY PRO PATIENT.

He is in Wheeling, WV. NEW YORK, ITALIAN, TALKS FAST, DOES FANTASTIC TRIGGER INJECTIONS. I asked him how he understood his patients and how they understood him, as we well know, some West Virginians speak slowly, and he talks really, really fast.

    His nurse just cackled.

At any rate, I flew there to see him for a long time. It exhausted me, of course, but he is great.

Had to stop seeing him when I got Medicare. He may take it now, but didn't then.

He moved his office to Martins Ferry, Ohio which is across the river from Wheeling.

I suppose you would take RT 2 to Wheeling then I-70 West crossing the Ohio River then Ohio Rt. 7 north to Martins Ferry (about 3 to 5 miles)

    Dr. Thomas J. Romano
    205 N Fifth St
    Martins Ferry, OH 43935-1530
    (740) 633-2449

Also, you can download two interesting articles by doing a Google search.

One is (and enter all words without punctuation) Can Pain Kill by Thomas J Romano .

The next one is Fibromyalgia The Physicians Curse which includes excerpts from a speech Dr. Romano gave.

By the way, he is past president of The American Pain Academy!

P.S. I wish I could go to him but have now transportation or resources to go. I know the directions because I grew up in the area.

    He was a great doc.

They all change, but I hope he's still good.
