I am in need of guidance from the Lord. I visited my rheumy Monday, all my blood tests came back negative-for things like Lyme, RA, Lupus etc. This is good.

Therapy has helped a little for my shoulder impingements, but I'm still faced with deciding about having the left one scoped and repaired. My knee needs scoping too. (It's keeping me from driving.

I've been having problems with swelling in the neck area. Just above the clavicle on the left their is a swelling, crescent shape reaching all the way to the back curving around the base of the neck It has been swollen since December and putting pressure on tender points which hurt. The swelling itself does not hurt but at one of the edges there is a lymph nodule, hard and swollen. There are other lymph glands along the neck that are swollen too.
These showed up on MRI the rheumy had ordered.

Now, I know that lymph glands normally swell when there's an infection present-but the rheumy just did all these blood tests.

He told me I need to see a general surgeon. Well, I've been around the block a few times and I know that if he thought it was just an infection, he's send me back to my primary care doctor, or run more tests himself.

I also know that the symptoms point in the direction of lymphoma. I've had intermitten low grade fevers, and great fatigue. (Like how many of us don't?)

It didn't hit me till after I was home for awhile that this could be very serious. My first big hurdle is chosing the surgeon. I have opened my insurance site and stared at the list three times. I just don't know who to choose. Please pray that I find peace about who to choose.

The irony of all this is I have to see a general surgeon anyway to have a hernia repaired, but that problem just keeps getting pushed to the bottom of the list.

I`m sorry to hear your having such a hard time. I will be praying for you. I just had my left knee scoped a month ago. It feels so much better. I had my right one done in July. I was having so much pain in both it was hard to walk or do anything.

I`m glad I did it because I am much more mobile and my Fm pain in my legs is 80 percent better.

Just take one thing at a time, I would start with the neck also. Let us know how your doing.

I'm so sorry to hear that you are having such a hard time. I agree with Debbie and Sandy, I would also start with the neck first.

I will be praying for the Lord to lead you in the direction of finding a good surgeon for these surgeries.
