I am currently on Ultram for pain and Ambien for sleep as well as ZMA but I am finding that it doesn;t do much for my evening and nighttime pain and I still don't sleep more than 3-4 hours a night. I need something different, stronger. I have heard alot about KLONOPIN, Neurontin and Trazadone. Do these drugs help with pain?sleep? How much is necessary to take for them to work? Can I take them with my current meds.? My real intense pain starts about 8:00 every night and I just can't stand it that I go to bed about 9-9:30.I am exhausted! I fall asleep great but wake up anywhere between 12:30 & 1:30 in severe pain and toss and turn all night.I get up at 6:30 and can barely get out of bed. My morning gets better, The meds I am on now help with daytime pain and fatigue but my nights are a nightmare. HELP!

Do you have a pain specialist????? Have you tried the duragesic patch???? It definitely takes the edge off the pain.

I used to take Ambien, but it gave me about the same help in sleep that you are having. After several months of adding one med at a time I am now on Ultram, Klonopin, Trazadone, Neurontin, and Flexeril at night for pain and sleep.

This has allowed me to sleep all night and has also helped my problem with restless legs. My doc's goal was for me to awake feeling refreshed, but I've about given up on that one. I have both CFS and FM and feeling refreshed doesn't seem to be in the cards for me at this time.

I started taking neurontin 6 weeks ago it has taken time to build up on the dosage now the dr has me taking 600mg 3xda,ultacet 1 or2 every 8 hours and I have taken klonpin for 15 years and am trying to get off it my dr put me on paxil 6 months ago and now I still take .05mg of klonpin in the morning and at bedtime. Last night was my first time in my bed in 6 weeks,Ive been in a recliner for 3 months sleeping and my hubby in another one because He didnt want me in the living by myself in case I need something. But seems like the pain stength is easing but not all is gone yet. Good Luck LindaGa

I found that the muscle relaxant zanaflex worked well for me, 4mg makes me sleep all night (12:00 - 6:30), I can even sleep till 8 or 9 am on weekends, it also helps the evening pain. when I don't have to get up with the kids.. I recently started on remeron (antidepressant) and my husband says that it is impossible to wake me.
