I am relocating to the Washington, D.C. area due to a job transfer in January. I had been going to Dr. Robert Bennett's clinic at OHSU. They can't recommend anyone. Can anyone recommend a physician in the D.C. area who will take new patients? I am low maintenance. I just need meds to keep me from becoming bedridden again.

Traffic around here can be a nightmare. I've lived in the area for 25 years so I know lots of alternate routes, which helps a lot. I would recommend that you choose a doc who is near where you live or work.

I live in the Reston/Herndon area of Fairfax COunty. I have a doc there also. I'm not sure about his taking new patients at this point. Someone at a support group meeting last weekend mentioned they thought he wasn't.

Have you checked the Co-Cure good doc's list? There are several listed there. There used to be a direct link from her to the site, but when I checked this afternoon it was gone and now there is a rather useless page on choosing a doctor in its place.

Let me know if I can be of more help.

I myself personally have seen several of these docs....
I would interview them to see if they *fit* YOU!
I have CFIDS so do not know any good FMS docs...
    Hopefully this can help?

Of the ones who are in the area, Stakus was in the news a few months ago and I believe had to close his clinic. There is a pain clinic in Herndon, with a man named Mayo Friedlis who a friend of mine goes to and likes.

I see Dr. Shor and the comments above are mine. I'm not sure if he's taking new patients, but is worth a try.

The only one listed in MD who is in the area is the Dr. in Bethesda.

    Hope this helps.
