    Hi

I had a nerve block in my shoulder a few years back. I was so nervous beforehand as im scared of needles!! It went fine. It numbed my pain, but only for about two weeks though im afraid. But those two weeks were heaven while they lasted!!
Hopefully you will find relief for longer than i did, everyone reacts differently i suppose. I wish you luck, let us know how it goes.

    God bless

    Hi

Well im glad i raised a smile! LOL.

Its true im afraid, im scared of needles. Because the nerve block was in the shoulder i couldnt see what he was doing behind me!!
Last month when my GP told me i had to have blood taken, i tried to run from the room!! The doc had to hold me down in the chair!! LOL. Quite funny now i look back on it..Luckily for him, i was too weak to put up a fight...

Good luck, hope it goes well. Wish i could have been more help to you.

    Hi

How can i say this politely? Hmmmm. YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN LOVE!! Wild horses couldnt drag me there!! But thanks for the invite! NOT! LOL

Yes, i did have to take someone with me too. You may be a bit woozy afterwards and it wouldnt be wise to drive for a little while afterwards.. although i was woozy just looking on the tray at the needles!!!! Luckily im not heavy and i could be half-carried to the car...HA HA.

    Take care love

Hi Lelehpr, Ive had several blocks, they usually dont last very long, with me the longest was 2 months, that was a relief, and before i was dx with fibro. I think it depends on the indiviual. Good luck. (((((Reg)))

Wonder what the point of getting a nerve block is, if it only last two months????

I have had several nerve blocks throughout the years. I also have chondromalacia pattela, in lay mans terms I have no cartilage in my knees so when my pain is at its worse it settles there for some reason. THe blocks have helped immensley and I use them for when it get real bad. I make sure I know the medicine the doctor is giving me and that the doctor is the best around These are spinal blocks so the doctor cannot make any mistakes. I know what works for me and luckily the doc who does them is a pain management specialist so he listens and seems actually happy when I tell him I feel better. It doesn't take it all away but it is better than hot pokers going through my knees when I flare. I am all for nerve blocks.

Even if the nerve block lasts for a couple of months, that is two months of not having to deal with terrible pain. To me that brief respite is worth it.

HI, I had 8 Blocks and Trigger in 6 weeks. I actually had them for Shingles of the Face. It only took me a day to recover, then I had to go right back it seemed, but those few days in between were great, but it was for Shingles, then after 7 weeks of that, I was dx'd with FMS. I haven't had any since then. You will need a driver, I think they said I couldn't drive or make any Major decisions for 24 hrs. Don't be afraid, you won't know anything and wouldn't care if you did. HA!
    GOOD LUCK,
    Tadpoles
