Hello...I have had Fibromyalgia for over 12 years, but now have a new additional diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis to boot! (HA! HA!) Just wondering over time if any of you have had this type of situation of differences have you noticed in your symptoms and so forth...

Unfortunately, it is very common for us to have some condition in addition to FMS. I was first diagnosed with CFIDS/ME before an auto accident ten years later triggered my FMS full blown. Ten years later, I apparently have Sjogren's Syndrome and intersitial cystitis. Sometimes, immune disorders "travel" with autoimmune disorders.

I'm so sorry you are having to deal with this autoimmune condition along with your FMS. Are you getting good medical care for the RA? Good luck and let us know how you are doing.

I actually just got the diagnosis last week of the RA. I have had the symptoms for a little while though. So I am not seeing anyone for it yet. The doctor she wants me to see it already scheduling out in January. So I cannot see her at least until January, so nothing until then.

Thank you for the response and may God Bless you!!!

Best of luck to you. Rheumies are booked way ahead here in FL, God's waiting room.

Is there a doc, perhaps a physiatrist (a doc of physical medicine, like a sports doc) or some other doc who deals in these illnesses. You might get in sooner and get some excellent care too. One of my best docs has been on of these. Now, I have a specialist in immune/autoimmune diseases for my PCP. I'm lucky.
