I went today for the MRI results of the thoraic area, I was told to go back to my family doctor for chest x-rays because they found a small amount of bilateral pleural effusions, I called to get an x-ray set up but am scared to death to find out what it is. My muscles are all knotted up I guess from the stress of this. Does anyone know what this is and what causes it?

    - Pleural effusion is defined as an abnormal accumulation of fluid in the pleural space.
I 'm not a doctor but I would not get upset yet .Google it
for more information or just call your Doctors office and ask them what you just ask us.Hey make them earn their pay.
I also know they like to have updated chest x-rays to compare things. They may have spoke out of turn it could be something that has always been there or a shadow .Do not stress out over this it will cause your other problems to flair up.
