The worst symptom for me is that I'm having fasciculations all over my body...even my throat and tongue, which is scary. I do get shooting pains all over, too, but not with the spasms. I found a symptoms list, and I have a lot of the symptoms of fibromyalgia, but not "severe" pain.

I have fatigue, foggy thinking at times, TMJ, tooth grinding, having a terribble time sleeping, Irritable bowel syndrome, headaches, extremely painful periods (before my hysterectomy) dry eyes and mouth, dizziness, tingling (electric current like) sensations, hot ears and skin sensations, bladder twinges, and fevers.

The doctor told me to try calcium, and then wants to do a hormone test. I am year old female, and have had some of this on and off for 12 yrs, but the spasms and pains all over are new. I can't sleep and am getting distressed...anyone have any advice??!!

If it's possible, you might try seeing a Rhumologist, that's the Doctor that gave me my dx, and also treat's me.

I'm so much better since I started seeing this Doctor, I also have a Sharp Orthopedic Dr. sho suppected that I had FMS, along with my OA ans CMP.

Excuse the lousy spelling, just can't find the right letters at times, ;o)

It is better to have your doctor rule out other things, just to be on the safe side. It could also be hormones and FM many people with FM have hormone imbanlances. I had terrible mouth sores all the time, then I started HRT and they went away. I stopped my HRT and of course they came back. I just have to figure out the lesser of the two evils!

Another great place to get a diagnosis and treatment is from a Fibromyalgia Specialist. I see a FM/CFS Specialist who is a Doctor of Osteopathy. With this discipline they can use prescription RX'es, as well as supplements, vitamins, herbs, and alternative treatments. I have found him to be very knowledgeable in FMS and the available treatments that work. The "integrated" medicine used as well as diet and lifestyle recommendations have really helped me find a better quality of health.

At the top of this page is a purple tab labeled "DR. Refferal", click on that tab. On the page that comes up next you will find "Co Cures Good Dr. List", toward the right margin. You may find a Doctor on that list in your state.

One is not always afforded a Dr. in the same community, and I have a days drive to mine, but it is SO worth it to find someone who will aggressive treat your symptoms, and improve your quality of life. With my Docs help I have gotten rid of IBS, pain is under control, spasms and twitching gone, sleep deprivation taken care of, systemic candida gone, depression gone, and exhaustion is much better. The neural symptoms of electric shock---are gone too.

Best wishes on your quest for a Diagnosis and Wellness.
