    Hi,
I am glad I found this place! I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia over 17 years ago when it was called fibrositis.

I have lived with chronic pain all these years. I moved from Indiana to Arizona a few months ago-hoping the dry climate will help my fibro and osteoarthritis.

Anyone else move to a dry climate for health reasons? And if so, did it help?

    Hi Sierrasioux,

Let me one of the first to welcome you. I'm glad
you've found the message board. There's so much information
to be found, you'd really be surprised.

I've had FM for a long time too. I'm 40 now, and
hate to think of living another 40 with it.

I went to my first support group tonight. The lady that sponsorded it is a nurtitionist. She thinks we
can help ourselves heal by what we eat. I have hurt for so
long, I wouldn't know how to act if I didn't. But, to say
the least I'm gonna try her way of thinking and see how I
    do.

I live in Northern part of Alabama.
Currently for the last 12 years we have lived in the country. I worked for 13 years. Had a wonderful job. Now
I have been homebound somewhat for about 13 months. I do
hope each day to get better.
I have to take pain meds and muscle relaxers.
Most of the time I'm still hurting.

You need to fill out your Bio so we'll know a
    little about you.

The weather here is so hard to live with. Today
we had good weather up to around 50* and then tonight we
are suppose to get 1-3 inches of snow. Go figure.

Welcome again, I hope you learn lots more than I'm sure
you already know. Also, you can go to the chat room. There
are some really nice people there to chat with

    Best wishes
    Di

    Thanks LadyDi,
You will have to let me know how everything works out with the foods the nutritionist suggested you try.
I also take pain meds. Since I just moved to another state-I am hating finding new doctors.
My favorite dr in Indiana was my rheumatologist. I went to one here and I was very disappointed. I knew that I would never go back to him when I, as a patient, was more knowledegable about some of my illnesses than he was.
I just made a post about a physiatrist. I will see that dr the end of March.
The internist that I have gone to has agreed to give me my pain meds that I take until I see my new dr.
If I don't care for any of my new doctors-then I will just fly back to Indiana and see my rheumatologist this summer.
My family is there, so I will be going back for a visit.
I am already missing my old doctors.
