I have FM and back trouble (scoliosis, disc problems, extra articulations, and more).

I tried going to a chiropractor. He did Flexion and Distraction on my spine. This created rib pain. He said because the ribs had not been moved that way since the scoliosis developed about 20 years ago.

I treated with him for about 4 months.

    I stopped 7 months ago.

I still have this rib pain that the adjustments created. I thought it would have gone away by now. I wonder why I still have it.

I hate the thought that I may have made my overall pain picture worse. I went there for relief. Not to gain new pains on top of eveything else.

Has this happened to anyone else?

I have back problems also and rib pain. Partially because of a car accident 7 months ago. I have spondilits (sp?) on top of FMS. I know that scoliosis is much more serious. I get stabbing pain in my ribs. If it wasn't for the fact that it was on the wrong side I would swear it was a gallbladder pain. I would recommend you find a chiro. who is Palmer trained. Don't know what exactly the difference in training is but the difference in treatment is a whole new world. They are more gentle and they tend to do more muscle therapy rather than just do adjustments. Mine has started me on massage therapy in addition to his treatment and it has made a huge difference. It was extreemly painful at first but has started to make a difference. Sometimes that happens with new treatment. I don't thing you should still be having pain. Because of your scoliosis I would suggest you see a bone specialist like an Endochronologist (sp?) or at least look for a chiro who has past success with treating patients with scoliosis.
