We all had our own set of tapes, or messages that we told ourselves, before our injury. Immediately following our injuries we began making new tapes. These new tapes or messages would be our profile and personality for some time to come. This information would be gathered from our family and friends, from the community, from doctors and others, and of course, ourselves.

They are our tapes. We have carefully put them together piece by piece. They have become a reflection of who we have become and how we feel about ourselves today. If we have discovered that we are uncomfortable with ourselves and the new tapes we have made, then it is time we change. Remember, we had the power to put these messages and tapes together. We certainly have the power to change them.
