While on the job (repetative injury over time), my back finally went out 8/05. I pushed it as I didn't want to lose my job, now I have been on Disability / Workman's Comp. since 3/06. I have been diagnosed with bulges in my lower spine and bone spurs. As physical therapy has not helped / healed this problem. I have been refered to a Psychiatrist / Psycotherapist. The Psych. thinks I may have Fibromyalgia as I have been very depressed, mood and temperment has changed and I have pain all over. We are waiting to see if the W.C. carrier will approve me seeing a Fibro Specialist.

I don't know what Fibromyalgia is or why it has happened (if this is what it is) to me. I've read a little in the forum here and it seems to be a possiblity.

I am 61 years old and I'm tired and ache all the time.
Could this be from the Depression I am going through because of my back injury? I am finding it very difficult to adjust to a life without working. I've been looking for work, but because of my age and the fear that this desease flaring up, I walk with a limp and it's hard to get a job because of these factors...

I'm at my whits end as I am so sad.

Can someone please give me some feed back?

You will find lots of great info and people here. To start, you may want to click above on "ABOUT US", then you will see on the left side under Fibromyalgia... options for: Intro, Treatment, Coping, etc.. That will give you a general idea of what "IT" is.

I am so sorry you are going through all of this. I know it is hard. I find this place to be very healing. I hope it helps you too.

    Hugs

So glad you came here. I have not been on this site long, maybe a month or so but everyone here has helped me so much.

I am sure there will be others that have been here longer, that have excellent information for you that they give to newbies.

Keep reading all the messages and you will learn so much.

I am glad to see you here and have all the empathy in the world for you. I was a healthcare professional until March of this year when I resigned from my position because the pain and fatigue were to much to work a fifty hour a week job. I have had to adapt a whole new lifestyle. You will find this message board helps 100%. It has me.

    Take care and kitten hugs,
    Laurie
