Hey there everyone, this is my first time on the message boards. I was wondering if anyone knows any good pain management docs in Northern Virginia. I have had Fibro and CFS for about 8 years now and have been pretty good for the most part but when I crash, I crash. That is where I am the past week. I am trying to reach my Dr. for the best treatment for the next few weeks to just get some relief!! I can't sleep and pain is constant 24/7 right now. The only downfall after a few weeks is that my husband and I are trying to have a baby and I don't want to be on any medication then. So, I was looking for a good pain therapist to help with that. Also, if you could reccommend what has worked for anyone out there for a quick fix for the next few weeks so I can get a little better? Thanks so much :)

Hello I just wanted to say hey! I'm not new to this board, but, I haven't posted much lately because I work in sales and since it's been the holidays I've been EXTRA busy. But until Valentine's Day I hope to see you all more often. Michele

Hello Ingy~~So glad you found us. As I am not from Northern Virginia, I can't help you with any doc referrals, but you might try the doctor referral list on one of the tabs at the top of the post page. Do you have a primary physician that can help you with the pain? Or one that can refer you to a Pain Specialist?

Since you are trying to get pregnant and looking for short term relief, you might see if a physician or pain specialist would give you some lortab, perocet, or something fast acting that can help you get through this flare.

Others on the Board will be along to offer other suggestions and ideas. Many are well versed in the use of natural products such as vitamins and herbs.

We all know how miserable and painful an FM flare can be, and I hope you find relief soon. You might also ask what others have used while they were pregnant when hit with a flare. However, bare in mind that what may work for one may not work for another. It is alot of trial & error to find what works for you.

Take care of yourself, and I hope you are feeling better soon. Best Wishes, Carol...

Thanks for the info. I tried calling my Dr. today to talk about getting through the extreme pain right now and all she said was to try and take extra ultram and extra strength tylenol together but it has not put a dent in so far. So, I will have to call back since I need to get out of this pain soon and get back to a manageable state. Thanks again for caring.

    Hi there,

My dr. finally prescribed some Vicodin so I can get through the major pain right now. Hopefully I can get some sleep and concentrate on work instead of thinking about the pain all the time. Thanks again for the welcoming messages:)
