Hi, my name is Gretchen and I just found this forum last week. I was wondering what your main symptoms were. I have had tingling in my hands and feet and muscle aches in my leg for the past 3-4 weeks. I have had the tingling before (2 years ago)but it went away after a month or so. Does this sound like fibromyalgia? I am currently awaiting the results of my MRI to rule out MS. Thank you.

My main symptoms are/were pain and fatigue, in that order for FMS. I also have diabetes so I don't know if the tingling in my feet were due to the diabetes or FMS.

I did get tingling in my feet back in 1995, when I was searching to find what was wrong with me.

Back then I had lightheadedness and headaches all the time. I had severe pain in my upper back/neck/face.

I tried PT first, but that didn't help me much. Then went to a dentist for what I thought was TMJ and it wasn't. Then back to my family doc and a neurologist, pain specialist, and ended up back with my family doc who is treating me for FMS. Oh, I also saw several psychiatrists and they just said I was stressed. I had a hard time finding anyone to give me pain meds.

Finally my family doc did. I just hope when I need more he will give me refills.

    Feel better!

Tingling in my extremities was one of my original symptoms, that and muscle twitching. The soreness and fatigue actually came later for me. I, too, went to a neurologist and had several MRIs & every other test in the book before to rule things out like MS, Parkinsons, etc.---it's good you are doing these, you'll feel better getting some of these things ruled out (hopefully).

I do think a BIG group of us here have tingling as a symptom, so that certainly is consistent with Fibro. Keep seeing your doctor to rule things out; that's part of the process as Fibro is often diagnosed by eliminating all the other possibilities.

I'm glad you found this site---much of what I've learned about Fibro and how to live with it I have learned here! Welcome to you---keep reading & posting!

    for your replies.

I have muscle pain in addition to my other symptoms. I don't have dry eyes but I do have chronic sinusitis and headaches.

I should also mention that I had a baby less than a year ago and had to have 2 epidurals b/c my first one didn't work. I don't think my problmes are caused from this but I'm wondering if lifting the baby and his carseat may be contributing.

Also, does anyone have any abnormal reflexes? Thanks again.

Major symptoms are muscle pain and fatigue. I also get tingling in my hands. I believe it is caused by the bad cramping in these muscles.
There are so many diferent symptoms people with FMS get that it is easy to lump them all under one illness. I am guilty of this and have missed dxed myself before.
Has your doctor done a pressure point test to find out if you have FMS? There are also lists of questions your doctor can ask to discover if it is FMS>
I will pray for good test results on your MRI.
