Hi Everyone - I posted a few days ago about my kidney infection and a recent trip to the ER but ended up finding out I had a lump in my left breast. This had me worried and the appointment was today for the mammogram.

While sitting at the bank drive-thru today an incoming call was coming in to my mobile phone and I missed the call and called back. They answered and said "ER" so my automatic thought was who was in the ER. They asked if I had received the certified letter from them in reference to my last ER visit. I replied no and she said let me go find a doctor. She couldn't tell me anything but sounded concerned.

The attending doctor got on the phone and said after studing my cat scan further they have found an abnormal growth in my right lung. I started crying and cried all the way home. The doc told me it could be scar tissue and to get it followed up by the end of May or first of June.

I am not feeling well and had to get hubby off work early because of my nerves. I will find out tomorrow about my mammogram and I am very scared.

My question is has anyone ever experienced this and if it was cancer would he be telling me to put this off for a few more weeks?

Please keep me in your prayers and thank you all for being here.

hi I'm sorry you're having such a scary time right now.
Don't assume the worst. Call the specialist right away and
get an appt. so you can find out what's going on. Whatever it is, you will feel better when you know what you're dealing with, and how to proceed. I will say a prayer for you that you will have a good outcome. You are not alone. Love and hugs to you too. Mary

Be careful what ER doctors tell you - they are NOT always right

My sister just relayed a story of a friend that had breast cancer, and had to then go to the ER for severe back pain, and the ER doc told her he thought her breast cancer was back!!!!

She was hysterical and then after followup with her regular doctor, it wasn't true!!!!

    Carolin,

I don't have any advise, just wanted to say try not to worry. I know it is easy to say, and harder to do. My mother had a growth in her lung....they watched it and it went away three months after they saw it. Maybe it was a bad xray, they do malfunction sometimes.

The lump on your breast could be a cyst.
Let us know, you are in my prayers.

My friend has had brest cancer and the important thing to remmeber is if you do have it and it is caught early the procedures are remarkable for what they can do and my friend is doing well and she is fine. On the other side of the coin my sister gets lumps in her breast all the time that are non cancer tumors and they are nothing to worry about some women are just prone to them. Please remember with todays technology there is wonderful things that they can do and remember to always think positive as that will help you through it. By the way I had cervical cancer back in the 70's and I have been clean for all of these years. You see there are plenty of us that survive cancer if indeed that is what you do have. Take care. hi carolin!
please relax til you get a second opinion and further studies done, it really could be anything and til you see a pulmonary spec. (sooner than may-june) it will only hurt you more to worry.
i think the er has to make you aware of such things, but to tell you it could wait that long--may not be too concerned.
re: breast---many many women require ultrasound studies of breast due to dense tissue, this is more accurate and probably next step. Can you feel the lump? is it tender to touch? MANY women, esp. fibro people, who are generally lumpy all over anyway, have lumps, this too is not to be worried about til further studies.
its hard to listen to anybody saying "calm down" but try to relax til you have something more specific to worry about , and if that time comes, it may be very early and caught in time (God sometimes gives us reasons for er trips, like kidney infect., etc. for a reason--to find something incidentally that may not have been found til much later.)
    have faith, and GOOD LUCK--L

Years ago I was going into the hospital to have an outpatient procedure. My doctor ordered a chest xray before the procedure. I imagine it was because the procedure would require anesthesia.

Before I went in the hospital, my doctor called me and said my xray showed scar tissue and he thought that I had TB at one time in my life and this was the cause of the scar tissue.

Apparently it is possible to have TB and not know it. Anyway, try not to worry too much about this until you talk to your doctor. As others have said, seeing scar tissue is not all that unusual.

    Good luck to you

I truly understand how scared you are. I went to the DR for a cough and they found a spot on my lungs. They then did a CT scan and the spot still showed up but also spot on my thyroid.I had a ultra sound on my thyroid. They call and tell me over the phone that there is several spots. I'm now waiting to have some sort of new xray, scan. Then I fail a ekg and had a stress test which they couldn't tell if there was any blockage due to a lot of gray area.So once again I'm waiting to have further testing. Before all this I only had fibro and my boyfriend broke up with me telling me I was to sick. Guess what I really am sick now. Sorry for rambling.
I know first hand how scary it is. We must stay strong and trust the Lord.

    Soft hugs

My OB-Gyn office called me yesterday with the results of my mammogram and the report says undetermined. They said there is two spots that are deep tissue sizes 8x10 milimeter and one that is 1 centimeter. I have to go this coming week for a biopsy to determine what they are.

My MRI for my lungs should be next week too I hope. I went over to the hospital to get a copy of the CT Scan of my lungs to find out more about it and it says there is a non-specific density present in the right upper lobe anteriorly. It measres up to 9x6mm in size. There is no infiltrate or effusion.

I am trying to not worry but it's hard especially when you have to wait. Thank you for keeping me in your prayers. It means alot.
