My doctor recently put me on anti-inflammatories for arthritis, but I have had a huge flare up of FM pain which has not happened in about a decade. Does anyone know if there is a connection, or if it is simply coincidental?
They have not helped the arthritis either.

I haven't read anything about NSAID's causing flares but then this might be a med you are intolerant of. I can say that NSAID's do nothing to help my Fibro pain. For me the OTC pain meds don't even put a dent in the pain.

Before my Doc gave me Pain meds, (which was only this week) as a last resort I tried Alieve. It helped better than the Tylenol ever did, but not near as well as Tylenol#3. My Doc Rx'd tramadol (Ultram) and that doesn't touch the pain either.
I don't know if the flare up and the NSAID's are related, but as far as my experience goes if it is an OTC, it's a tic tac. Ultram or tramadol, that might as well be an OTC as well. I just got them this week and already quit taking them as there was no use in it, they just didn't help.

Sorry to hear that you are feeling so bad - Wishing you well - M
