I have 2 chessnut trees in my yard. I have never roasted chessnuts over an open fire and wouldn't even know how to start. Suggestions?

They have a very prickly exterior that comes off. Any ideas in a crafty way to do with these? Dianne

When I was a kid my mom would take me and my brother "chestnut picking". I remember we used a long handled popcorn popper (look in camping supply stores). I also remember mom poking each chestnut with an ice pick...or something like a pick. If she missed poking a hole in one - they would explode!
I remember chestnut pasta too....hmmm that sounds good right now! If you need more info, I'm sure mom would be thrilled to help out!

    Good luck!

porqupines out of the prickly exteriors. Just get some of those wiggly eyes and glue gun them on.
