So you and your son are out to get us, today, eh?

Hmmm...near the Italian coast... it sure does look very Mediterranean, and it does look like Italy.

I have no idea, but I'll guess somewhere in Corsica.

What I meant was, Italy was closer than Florida. Where is Corsica? hahaha It is probably close. Keep guessing!

Maybe it's somewhere on the Atlantic Coast or the Gulf Coast of the US, that just LOOKS Mediterranean.

    Back to Europe.

    Still taking wild guesses.

If it's not Italy, France, Corsica, or thereabouts. It doesn't look Greek.
How about the Dardanelle Straits on the Bosphorus in Istanbul?

It looks Mediterrenean. And it looks like Greece to me also but that is just a guess!

It is the Bosphorous Strait and the city is Istanbul. Istanbul is the only metropolis that is officially is two continents. Asia and Europe. Population is about 13 million.

I really appreciate everyone who "played". The replies brought smiles to my son's face!!

The photo was taken by him a couple of weeks ago when he was there with his church's group. They were told that if anyone asked them about the war in Iraq so say, "It makes me sad." and to keep repeating that if asked further questions.

    Hugs to all.

I just got lucky on that one.

I can't believe your son was there two weeks ago. What a beautiful, historic, place. Does he have any pictures of the Haggia Sophia?

Several hundred it seems like :) but it is probably only 20.

To those who might wonder what that place is (notice I don't attempt to spell it). It was christian church built by Justinian around 536AD, converted into a Mosque when Constantinople fell to the Turks in 1517. They covered the unspeakably beautiful mosaics. Now the place has been turned into a museum. They are attempting to uncover the mosaics.

We can put a pic of it in my profile, if you like. Or send you a slide show (smile).
