Off topic, but a couple other people were talking about their cats, so i thought you guys might want to see some pictures of mine! I breed Himalayan kittens a couple times a year, and I have this batch of guys that were born back in late April.

Aren't they cute? They can be a handful, but they are fun to look at. :)

Well i tried to direct link them but i guess the board doesn't allow pictures to show up, so i used a text link code. You have to upload your picture somewhere that allows linking like photobucket.com, or imageshack.us, and then put the image's address into this code:

    <*a href="YOUR_IMAGE_ADDRESS_HERE">WHATEVER TEXT YOU WANT HERE</a*>

    Just remove the stars.

Stormy - Actually the Himalayan breed came from combining Siamese cats with Persians, so they are actually pretty close reletives! Himi's just have the longer hair, and aren't as vocal as Siamese tend to be. But they both have the beautiful blue eyes!

I couldn't get any of the pictures until the last post listed the entire address .... went to it and saw to really cute black and white, what looked to be short-haired kittens.

I have a Himalayan cat but she does not look anything like your kittens. I think they called her a seal point. She has a black face and ears with white long hair all around her face and then her body is beige with black mixed through here and there. She has extremely long hair! She's just a big bundle of fur!!! LOL

However, she is MEAN!!! She was very playful as a kitten, but now she wants to be everywhere my DH and I are at, but you can't touch her, or she will bite you.

Are all adult Himalayan's like that -- look at me but don't touch! I have so many permanent scars on my hands from trying to play with her!

Thanks for sharing the beautiful photos of your kittens. :) I'd love to have all of them, but from experience brushing and coming all those kittens is a real chore. I had a semi-long haired cat and as he got older he stopped grooming himself and it was hard to keep him from matting up.

    Hugs,

THey are beautiful--I bred Himmies, but mine were more of a gray/beige instead of the white.

I just have one 16 year old male Himmie left.

JIH --No, not all older Himalayans are mean. Our male 16 year old is totally gentle yet. He loves to lay on our laps, cries for attention, follows us and cuddles up with us. He is a little shy with strangers, but would never hurt a soul. His mother was the same way.

Yours might come from a strain with a different type of personality; they are all different, like people.

    They're gorgeous!!
I'm sure your proud~ and with every right!! :)

I use to own 2 angora cats yrs ago.
some day I'll want another long haired.
although I do remember them being alot of work to keep them tangle free.
I guess thats one advantage of my short haired cat that I own now.
    thanks for sharing

No, not all Himi's are mean! Actually none of my adults are mean. They should be breed for sweet personalities. Characteristics are passed on from the parents, so the breeding pairs i have are all really sweet and laid back.

They CAN be difficult to keep tangle free. It depends on the cat/kitten. Different types of long hair. Some mat easily, some don't mat at all. But i work with the ones that do mat everyday, so they enjoy their grooming sessions and are easy to comb out. :)
