    INGREDIENTS:
6 apple - peeled, cored and sliced
    1 cup water
1 (18.25 ounce) package white cake mix
    1 cup packed brown sugar
    1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    1/2 cup butter, melted

    DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Arrange apples in an even layer in bottom of baking dish. Pour water over apples.
In a medium bowl mix together cake mix, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Stir in melted butter or margarine until ingredients are thoroughly blended; mixture will be crumbly. Sprinkle mixture over apples.
Bake in preheated oven for 50 to 55 minutes.

    Love to all, Ann

Hi Just peel apples take out core.Put them in a oven safe dish .Put 2 cups oatmeal 1/2 cup melted butter and chopped walnuts and cup brown sugar in a bowl mix together .If you like Cinnamon you can put 1/2 teaspoon.

Put the oat meal mixture over apples and bake at 350 till golden.

Simple if you want a bigger one just increase your oatmeal mixture you can double it.

I was looking for apple crisp recipe also. The apple tree is full of apples and hubby would like apple crisp. I wonder if it can be frozen if I make a few pans.

    Thanks so much

    I do this:

Use 6 apples peeled, cored and sliced into square greased dish. Squeeze fresh lemon plus 1/4 cup of water over all.

    Mix together:

1 cup flour (I use oat bran flour)
    3/4 c. brown sugar
    1 tsp. cinnamon

Mix together and sprinkle over apple slices. Top with slices of butter. Bake about 45 minutes until crisp at 350 degrees.

    EAT!

I have done the cake one posted here and it is good. I have also used other fruit and/or 2 or more fruit at once.

    Here is a different one:

    EASY APPLE CRISP

    1 c. sugar
    2 tsp. lemon juice
    1/4 c. water
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
6 peeled and sliced large apples
    3/4 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    6 t. butter

Combine 1/2 c. sugar, lemon juice, water and cinnamon in bottom of small baking pan. Slice in apples. Blend remaining 1/2 c. sugar, flour, salt and butter until crumbly. Spread over apples and pat smooth. Bake at 375 degrees for 40-50 minutes, until apples are tender and crust is browned. Serve hot with ice cream. This is a good recipe for apple crisp if you don't like the over-sugary oatmeal taste. It's basically a rectangular apple pie, but healthier (no lard).

    ==========and another:
    3 cups chopped tart apples
    2 cups raw cranberries
    1 cup granulated sugar
    1/2 cup brown sugar
    1 cup quick oats
1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
1 stick of butter or margarine, cut in small pieces(4 ounces)
    PREPARATION:
Spread applies & cranberries in bottom of a buttered 2-quart casserole dish. Spread sugars, oats and nuts over apples and cranberries.Top evenly with butter pieces. Bake for 55 to 65 minutes at 325°.

++++++++about any fruit works so well............Susan
