I changed the title, I wanted to leave this here longer. I think these "Four Agreement" (below) are so wonderful, especially agreement 2.

I have been a shut in with my cold for days!! So here I am, posting, posting, posting.... this and that....

Don Miguel Ruiz's book, The Four Agreements was published in 1997. For many, The Four Agreements is a life-changing book, whose ideas come from the ancient Toltec wisdom of the native people of Southern Mexico. The Toltec were 'people of knowledge' - scientists and artists who created a society to explore and conserve the traditional spiritual knowledge and practices of their ancestors.
Don Miguel Ruiz's - The Four Agreements

    Agreement 1

Be impeccable with your word - Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.

    agreement 2
Don’t take anything personally - Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering.

    agreement 3
Don’t make assumptions - Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.

    agreement 4
Always do your best - Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse and regret.

Also, here are a couple of quotes:

    “Fantastic things
happen - to the way we feel, to the way we make
other people feel. All this simply by using
    positive words.”
(Professor Leo F Buscaglia, teacher, writer and
    humanitarian, 1924-1998.)

    “Live with compassion.
    Work with compassion.
    Die with compassion.
    Meditate with compassion.
    Enjoy with compassion.
    When problems come,
    experience them with
    compassion.”
(Lama Zopa Rinpoche, born Nepal 1946

I like all four agreements. I'd say I pretty much live by those ideals. Except I do occasionally gossip. Oh well, can't be perfect!

    Thanks for posting these!
