Hello everyone and happy new year 2006 by the way.

Today I have been feeling weird...I have facial pain. I was wondering if anyone out there has ever had this type of ache....it feels like burning. It is located on the cheeckbone....when I touch it, it feels like inflammation type pain. It lingers on for hours then goes away. I think it is some type of nerve pain.

any help/advice will be gladly appreciated.

Have you been tested for lyme disease? Marie

I second what -ouch- said. It sounds exactly like trigeminal neuralgia. I have facial pain too, but it's different, not burning. Mine's just under the cheek bone and along the upper tooth roots. I've had the sinuses checked. Nothing there.

If it is, also be on the lookout for shingles, if you've had chickenpox. Getting them on the face is especially dangerous as it can affect the eye.
