Painless sleep positions?

    I am hurting something bad in my hips and thighs when I TRY to sleep. I know the logical thing to do is to sleep on my back BUT I cann't! So any suggestions would be wonderful! My hips and thighs hurt to even have my pants touch them!HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I use a regular size pillow and put it in between my legs when I sleep on my side. Most times, I end up on my back because of the pain, then I just put the pillow under my knees to relieve low back stress. Also, since I am very skinny, my spine is out of whack when I lay on my side, so I made a very small pillow and I put it in the gap between my ribs and hips when I'm on my side. That seems to help with keeping my spine straight.

    I use that to support my hips.

    If your skin is sensitive, there are a lot of FMers here who recommend soft sheets as being very important, and all sorts of mattress pads.

    A better bed has really made a difference to me with my hip pain, but mine is muscular and skeletal problem, not usually sensitivity on the skin.
