My hubby was on this. It was great as the cut off to receive meds for free is much higher than for Medicaid by the way. HOWEVER. This new Medicare program, all the PAP's are having to contact the folk on the free programs and they complete a form for the new Medicare Prescription plans, which are a mess right now. If you are told by Medicare you do not qualify, the PAP's will pick you up again, but all of this takes time. Some of the "Partnerships"mentioned charge a fee for hooking you into the PAP's and this is unnecesary. You can just go direct very easily yourself. Type in any drug company name on Google and you can access PAP for that company for free.
If you qualify for Medicaid they will not be able to help.
Please do NOT pay to have them hook you up though, as you can do it yourself. These programs have been around for a few years and those people using them are really upset to be bumped into the Medicare programs. We are told we will have to pay $5 per scrip on the Medicare program, via Eckerds, but we have been listening to the debates about all the terrible failures and the new propgrams suddenly pulling a drug or refusing it whenever they feel like it, so it is a nightmare presently. The PAP's were really good, but now will only be allowed to cover non Medicare or Medicare refused people.
