Pediatric Immunization You have written and spoken about multiple vaccines and chronic illness. For those of us with young children or grandchildren, what is your thinking on a proper immunization program currently? Reply: I am not against vaccination of children, but there has been a trend in pediatrics to add more vaccines to the list and often use vaccine combinations together in less than optimal schedules. This, I feel, can be potentially dangerous to young immune systems. Parents have to be careful in evaluating the vaccine schedules for their children to make sure that they are not being done just for convenience or because there is a very, very small chance that their children could become infected.
