I know they don't put lead in pencils anymore (I believe it's graphite?)

My stepson poked his hand with a pencil at the end of October. This is the first time I've seen him since (2 months) and the dark spot is still there.

I'm not going to put another hole in his hand to try and get it out. I told his mother to put salve on it and it would draw the pencil material out. I don't know if she did that or not.

    What should I do?

I poked myself with a pencil when I was younger and my school nurse got it out... but I don't remember how (I remember the incident, but just having had a stroke this year I can't remember how it was done.)

    Thanks,

I too have a piece of graphite under my skin from a pencil. I've had it for about 30 years. It just remains dark in that spot.

It didn't get infected when the original incident happened (I accidentally SAT on a pencil!) So when someone tells me to get the lead out of my a**, I guess they have seen me naked!!!! Joyfully
