Pepper and Nancy: You are both so terrific. I am so glad the Lord has bought our paths together. Saw the pain specialist today. He is so good. He upped the patch. He said the new dose is the equivalent to taking 4 extra percoset per day. He also changed my sleep medication to restoril. He doubled it. He said if that didn't work we would go higher. He wants to bring me up gradually because he doesn't want my body crashing because it is so tired right now. It is like when you are over tired and then you crash and sleep for a long time except that my whole body would shut down. He said also there isn't anything else we can do for my hip and back. Bummer. Oh yeah he wanted me to be on that synthetic nasal spray that is like "pot" . It makes you spacey. Pepper it isn't covered and it costs $200/mth but our government will give you a sample that lasts 3 weeks. Go figure. Only in ON. eh? Anyways you can tell I have percoset in me and I am babbling. Blessings on both of you and Peace to both of you. Keep in touch and let me know how it is going. Even if it is just help. Love you both

I sure hope this newer strength of meds will do the trick for you. I am not up on the meds because I don't take any for pain. Pain meds and I don't usually get along so I do all the natural stuff even though sometimes I would like to be in la la land. Ha! Actually about now!!!! The kids at school are hyped up. I had my junior high kids today and the elementary will be way worse tomorrow. They have been hyped for two weeks straight because they already have had several days off during conferences so their minds are into the Christmas mode already. Ugh.

I don't have much news on my aunt. My sister dropped in the hospital to see her and she was asleep and no one was there. She ran into my aunts DIL in the gift shop and she said they really didn't know much yet. I think they have done some liver tests and were waiting on the results of those. I am bracing for maybe a not so fun Thanksgiving because of this. I will be down with my mom and my sister is having the Thanksgiving dinner at her house. They both live in the same town. I have to drive about three hours south to get there. I will basically be going nonstop until Wed. We do get out early non Wed so that will be good. I am really ready for a break. I am very tired. Take care and hope to hear the meds are doing their job. What is the latest on De. Have you heard anything from her?

    Love,
    Nancy

I am so glad that our paths have crossed too. I believe that you and Nancy and all the other wonderfully supportive people on this board were brought into my life for a reason. And I have been brought into yours for a reason.

With the improvements in my life in the last few months I am just going to be thankful that I have met you all. Prayer has become a much more meaningful part of my life and I love it!

You must be in an awful lot of pain to be on so much pain med, Cath. I am so sorry. On the bright side, at least you seem to have an excellent pain specialist.

I don't know anything about the synthetic nasal spray. Is it for pain control?

It must be so frustrating to be told that there is nothing else that he can do for your hip and back. I will pray for that.

I take 30 mg Restoril for sleep. I first started taking it 14 yrs ago and have tried different things off and on. But I always end up back with the Restoril. I don't get a great night's sleep but I get a better sleep than with anything else. And I have to make sure I get the brand name, not the generic. Have you noticed a difference? My CFS doc says that we can often pick up subtle differences in meds that "normal" people can't.

Blessings on you too, Cath. I am praying that you get relief.

Thanks for your concern. I slept a bit better last night. I am a little hung over from the restoril.I probably should have stayed in bed longer. We have this bright light in the sky today. I think they call it the sun lol. I actually have my window open. I haven't heard from DE. Sent her a couple of e-mails and posts but no response. Nancy still praying for you. Have a great thanksgiving and we'll connect when you get back. Please have a peice of white meat and a slice of pumpkin pie for me ok? Take care of yourselves and keep me posted. Nancy I have some ativan you can slip in the kids juice if you want. Only kidding lol. Talk soon.

I find that I need 10 hrs in bed taking 30 mg Restoril. My friend with CFS/FM needs 9 hrs. I find that it doesn't work quickly so I have an hour or more of awake time before I fall asleep. Then I hope that the cat doesn't wake me up at 3 a.m. like she did this morning!

That unusual bright light was in the sky over us today too. lol I had to really hunt for my sunglasses when I went out today. I haven't needed them in awhile.

Is the pain any better today?

    Still praying.

I was considering spiking the kid's juice but those orange jump suits they wear in prison is just not my color! LOL

I made it through the day and yes those kids were hyped up by the end of the day. Oh my gosh. Then there was a mad exodus for the door when the bell rang and that was just the teachers. Ha.

I have to present this session on clarinet to the teachers tomorrow. Ugh. So I have been messing around with reeds etc. I make my own clarinet reeds which is pretty unusal so I can talk all day about that and no one will know if I really know what I am talking about or not. LOL

How are you feeling today. I am really sorry about the doctor saying that nothing more can be done with your back and hip. Is that because of the RA. Of course we know the Great Physician can do all things. I am believing that for you.

What will you be doing for Thanksgiving? I will be packing up as fast as I can tomorrow afternoon and taking off for my mom's. It just occured to me yesterday that the last time I visited her in October is when my cat got pretty sick. I sure hope that doesn't happen again.

Well I have to head to bed in a few minutes. Take care and see ya when I get back.

    Love,
    Nancy
