First, thanks to everyone for the amazing support and prayers. I pray for us all every day as I know all too well the toll these illnesses take on us. Sometimes, when I read others' posts, it breaks my heart.

I vomited in the car on the way home (why didn't I take a plastic bag with me ?). I had a paper bag and used it and set it in the plastic tray for drinks to contain it. Yikes! It's difficult to heave and drive at the same time. The heaving and diarrhea let up about 2:30 in the afternoon. It left me feeling quite sick and my headache remained until bedtime. At least, I got some Excedrin and Guai in me and that helped with the pain. Geez, I had forgot just how painful FMS can be as the Guai has been taking care of most of it for years. I finally got into an Epsom Salt hot soak to ease the pain in my legs. Some of my neighbors are throwing up and having diarrhea so it may be a stomach bug which was coincidental to the shot.

Last night, the Sjogren's symptoms went away. In fact, it's like someone turned on the faucet in my salivary glands and oil glands in my eyelids. I was salivating and tearing up like crazy. I couldn't believe it after having dry mouth and dry eyes for so long. I also noticed that the pain and tenderness were gone from my arthritic fingers and wrist. These were the last things I thought the injections would help. Also, last evening was the first time in recent memory when I didn't fall asleep at 7:00 or 8:00 in the evening. Good news is that the shots seem to be working. Yea!!!

I'll still have to take it easy today. I'm skipping our Tues. morning condo mtg. Doc says with the first shot, I'll feel improvement but it will diminish, probably before I go in on the 27th for the second one. Eventually, the injections should get rid of the Fibro, Chronic Fatigue, Arthritis, Sjogren's and the interstitial cystitis. After the next shot, I will receive them on a monthly basis for somewhere between nine months and a year. I may need to occasionally go in for a booster after that.

Thanks again for your prayers. Sending mine up for all of you.

    Love, Mikie

What a rough start! and then to see such improvement, that's amazing. I do hope that was a one-time detox-herx whatever reaction you had, or that "no-flu" bug.

This is such good news - I hope to see more!

    Best wishes,

Thank you both so much for your good wishes. I really appreciate it. I'm really starting to wonder myself whether the side effects were really side effects or a virus. Being sick with an active viral infection is supposed to render the shot useless but mine worked, thank God. How horrible it would have been to notice nothing. I guess I won't know what caused me to get so sick until I get the next shot.

I'm still very tired because I had to forego my meds for four days, including my Synthroid. I think I'm tired too due to the changes going on.

Diane, that's amazing about how the supps made such a diifference for you. I'm happy for you about that. I've been hearing such good things about coconut oil. There are a lot of "super foods" being found in all kinds of plants which are also being put in skincare products. Wait until Adrienne hears about them :)

Mary, I hope it was the "no-flu virus" too. I don't want to go through that each time I get a shot. Of course, even if it were a side effect, it may diminish over time with each injection. I did notice some red flushing on my cheeks later in the day yesterday. This is one of the known side effects.

Again, thank you both for your sweet support.

Mikie - I have been so busy and maybe I will be able to think straight after tomorrow's Church choir performance.

Hope this all works for you and that you don't have to many side effects from them. Does insurance pay for any of these shots and has many docs heard of them? I hope that they are not horribly expensive. I had not heard of those shots before. Do you go to a specialist for them.

Good luck and let us know how they are working for you?

    Lots of hugz and blessings,

Do you sing in the choir? How I admire that! I used to be able to sing pretty well but over the years, I've lost it--can barely carry a tune now. Hope the perfomance goes well.

There are only about 25 docs in the U.S. who do these injections. They have been used successfully in Europe for about 35 years but are not FDA approved. That means that we have to pay for them ourselves as no ins. co. will pay for anything which isn't approved. The shots cost $300 each and will likely increase one of these days.

My doc and his partner have traveled to Oxford University and all over the world to bring themselves up to date and learn more at symposia each year. Oxford uses a lab which puts the proper peptides together in the proper sequence in the sera which is used in the injections. There are different sera for different conditions. They can examine a person's plasma in order to make a serum tailored to that person's illness(es). The one I take is a "broad-spectrum" serum for immune and auto-immune illnesses.

I'm pretty sure I have had a virus and that is what caused the stomach problems. I'm still not quite up to par. My pendulum tells me that is what happened. I'll get a better idea when I get the second shot.

    Thanks for your good wishes.

I hope your investment is a good one with great results. Over the years, I've not spent huge amts. of money on treatments. My docs and I have done most everything empirically with good results. My ins. just won't pay for expensive tests and treatments.

Normally, I wouldn't do anything like what I'm doing now except for the wonderful results which people in Europe have experienced for more than 30 yrs. That's a good enough track record to convince me I should, at least, give it a try. If the first three injections hadn't worked, they would be stopped. That would mean I would be out $900. That's still a lot of money but, to me, it's worth a try. Since the first injection has shown good results, I think I can assume they will continue to help.

Again, my prayers going up for you for great success. Let us know how it's going. My second injection is the 27th (the first two are given two wks. apart and then, once a month). I'll let y'all know how the second one goes.

The peptide injections are a medical treatment in which the correct sequence and length of healthy peptides are injected into the muscle (it doesn't work orally). Over years of research, the exact peptides have been identifed and prepared in the lab which works with the Oxford University Research Group. I wouldn't call these injection supps nor medicine. It's closer to giving stem cells but on the other hand, it's really nothing like them other than the body accepts them and learns how to produce its own correct peptides. Because of the secrecy involved in the research and development, that's about all one can find out.

I woke this morning with dry mouth so assume that the effects are wearing off as the doc said they would. I've been Herxing like crazy so also assume that my immune system is normalizing and mopping up pathogens without going after my own tissues. By the 27th, I'll really be ready for the second shot.

I'm so sorry you and hubby are still having symptoms of the not-flu. I have been Herxing but that's a whole different animal and is likely from the shot's causing my immune system to start killing off pathogens. I do get very tired every now and then and have to lie down. It's hard to know what is due to the shot and what are lingering symptoms of the not-flu. Last night, my mouth was soooo dry but it's better today. I'm bursting with energy today and can't believe it. This is way better than anything I expected. My doc will be thrilled.

Did you get an Argan Oil kit for that four-times-a-year surprise from Adrienne? I just got a notice that my surprise is an Argan Oil kit. I'm glad for that. After this one, I may cancel the auto ship on them. I have soooo much product. My old vitamin C day cream seems to have gone bad. I've never had that happen with any of her products. I have two new jars of it so I think I'll keep it for my body when I go over to the pool as it's now like an oil It has SPF in it so I won't get burned. It doesn't smell rancid but it smells different and, like I said, more oily. I think if I get too much product, I'll have things spoil. As it is, I use the platinum, the vitamin C, and Argan Oil.

Today, HSN is having a 24 hr. jewelry clearance. Some of it is stuff I don't like and some is just too expensive to begin with but some of it is soooo tempting. I'm in austerity mode with Christmas, property taxes, property ins., new tires and these shots. I'll be happy if I just start feeling well enough to go out and wear some of the jewelry I already own.

I'm sorry to say that Jam has lost her privleges here due to rule infractions. That's as much as I can say but it is very sad to me whenever we lose someone.

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a very happy and healthy New Year.
