    Good afternoon to everyone.

I called my pain doc in crying pain. Long story short,
the percocet she prescribed was SO much LESS effective than
    Lortab.(which I was taking.)

I was so upset, because since this is a higher class drug
I thought it would help. Nothing.

I was just wondering if anyone knows the "active" ingredient in it. I guess I need to know, because my pain doc wants me to start Oxycontin. If they are simular in
structure, I'm sure the Oxy won't help either.

Lortab 10mg helps me to a certain extent. I need to know
what other drug has simular ingredients.
**What are some of the other Pain Meds in the "Oxy"family

Hope there's more informed people here than me. I use to
think I knew some things. Boy, am I ever learning, (thru the pain)

Best wishes, Thanks for ***any*** info

    It's oxycodone and acetaminophen (tylenol).

    Oxycontin is also oxycodone.

    Lortab is hydrocodone.

So they all appear to be in the codeine family. [This Message was Edited on 09/24/2003]
