Hoping someone here can help me locate a good physician for fibromyalgia in Louisiana, in the New Orleans region. I'm not having much luck. Thanks!

This website has information on physicians by state. Go to the top of the home page under "physician referral". That's where I found the FM specialist in my area.

being new to this message board, I didn't even notice. Thanks for the tip! I'm more befuddled than usual - we got flooded big time with Tropical Storm Bill on Monday. Doesn't help that the fibro-fog is acting up more

I see an incredible integrative dr. in Metairie. Her name is Kashi Rai and I've been under her care for over a year and a half. In that time I have reversed my Lupus, gotten rid of IBS and panic attacks/anxiety, increased my energy, and feel better than I have in years. I would say I am 90% better today, than I was when I went to see her in 2001. She is not cheap, but she will give you your life back. All the things you read about on this message board she does! Such things as mycoplasma testing, extensive thyroid testing (which is often connected to FM), hair analysis for heavy metals, saliva testing for hormones, extensive blood tests (generally I have 24 tests done at the lab, for a total of 8 tubes drawn), nutrition counseling, etc. She uses both nutritional supplements and prescription drugs (when there is no supplement that can handle the job). I have never had a doctor this thorough. She's worth every cent.

    Hope this helps,
    Annette

I'm not even in your region, I'm in Kansas, but I'm just putting in my two cents, after reading Annette's response! The doctor she describes sounds a lot like the allergist I found here in KS, who also does all the tests she talked about & is also very, very thorough. Mine also did allergy testing including foods, & found the missing link for me---undiscovered food allergies. I am now between 60-70% better after a few months of treatment----not the 90% Annette describes, not yet, but hopefully on my way there! So, I agree, if you can see Annette's doctor & get some good, comprehensive testing done, it may be worth every penny! Mine, too, prefers naturopathic treatments, but isn't afraid to use prescriptions if & when warranted---I think the best of both worlds! Good luck to you & hope this turns out to be the doc for you. And welcome to this great board!

    Hugs,
    Pam
