TODAY I WENT TO MY RHEUMATOLOGIST TO GET A MEDICAL LETTER TO TAKE WITH ME TOMORROW...TOMORROW IS MY COURT DATE TO GO BEFORE THE JUDGE HER IN NEW YORK

I WOULD LIKE FOR THIS BOARD TO TELL ME IF YOU LIKE THIS LETTER, OR DO YOU SEE THE JUDGE THROWING THIS LETTER AWAY.I WROTE A SIMILAR ONE THAT PREFER..., DID MY DOCTOR HELP THE JUDGE IN DENING ME SSI.... ..I WISH MY DOCTOR HAD GO OVER THE LETTER WITH ME FOR CORRECTION....BUT HE HAD NO TIME.... i hate that letter that he did..anyways...
    HERE GOES

    doc letters:
Application for disability because of FIBROMYALGIA AND CHRONIC FATIGUE SYNDROME

    TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
Ms,my name here... has been under the care of the hospital here for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome since May 2006. She has been under the care of Dr.Susan Levine for the same illness since l995.

Her primary symptoms are profound weakness, fatigue, headache and sleep disturbance.

In the past she has been treated with infusions of kutapressin, more recently we have tried floxetine, steroids, provigil, elavil and more recently we have added ambiem, trazodone and tramadol. Sne is also under psychiatric cre with dr. name here.

In the past EBV titres have been positive for acute infaction. currently only IGG EBV suggesting chronic infection positive. ESR remains elevated at 38 consistent with chronic innune activation.

her physical findings include multiple sensitive trigger points in the clssic distribution. There are no significant joints and no neurologic abnormatities.

The major limitations for work are the profound weakness and sleepiness. She cannot stay at a task for more than an hour or so. She cannot sit for more than 2 hours, or stand for more than 1/2 hour. she can lift 10 lbs. without difficulty, but cannot lift more. There is no impairment of manual dexterity.

Combined with her emotional factors, she has been unable to work for several years, and we do not expect a change in her condition in the foreseeable future.

    Sincerly,

    dr's name
    attending rheumatologist

I'm not an expert in this, since I'm not getting disability and I'm certainly not a lawyer, but it looks like most of the stuff you would want are there in the letter. It says you can't work steadily for more than 1/2 hour or so. Cannot sit for more than 2 hours or stand for more than 1/2 hour.

I can't think of any job that would seriously fit those criteria, but maybe I'm missing something.

Mainly, I'm just responding to keep this bumped so maybe someone with more knowledge than me will see and answer.

Best of luck, though! Hope it turns out well for you.

Sounds good to me.Profound weakness is good seems to me that he thinks you will not be returning to work anytime soon.

One of my Doctors put " out of work until further notice and that was it ".

I won my case and your letter seems fine to me.
Good luck.Your in my thoughts and prayers.

I think your Dr's letter was very good, he/she covered all he bases and talked about all the aspects of your physical and mental condition.

I think it is just so hard to get SSI and that the letter was not a negative.

    Hugs,

I think it is a very good letter. The doctor basically states that you can not sit, stand, or perform tasks for any duration of time.

He could have went into more detail about what EBV means and so forth. But you can explain that only if asked to the Judge. You can explain, EBV is a severly debilitating virus, Kutapressin is a heavy duty antiviral, and that Susan Levine is one of the leading CFS specialists in the country. Hope this helps and best of luck at your hearing.

    You will win!
