He is out looking for a job today. He needs a job desperately, not only for the money but for his feeling of self-worth. He has been retired from a 32 yr career for 2 yrs and has been miserable and severely depressed.

I thank God that he has finally realized that he needs to work. I need him to work too so I can get my life back. Our relationship and my health have gone from bad to worse in the last 2 yrs.

Now that everything is getting back to normal after the summer holidays, hopefully something will open up for him.

Thank you all. God bless and have a wonderful week.

God has opened his eyes already and made him see that he's not ready to retire. It's so important for all of us to feel needed and useful. Think positive and give him those positive reinforcements too. He'll find just the right place and then you two can get your life working right again. Take care.

I know what your husband is going through, When I had to quit work due to health problems, I also missed working so much that I felt useless.

I will certainly be praying for the Lord to Bless your husband with a job that he will enjoy.

I am sure that is exactly how my husband has been feeling. I found it so difficult to understand that he could not get the same sense of satisfaction from doing things around the house. But he is wired differently from me and I finally understand it.

I really enjoyed my job of 25 yrs but always saw myself as a wife and mom first. Although I must admit that having to quit teaching due to my health did affect my identity to a certain extent.

So it must be so much harder for him. He always identified himself by his job.

    I appreciate your prayers.

I am praying that God will place your husband in the perfect job, a christian owned business that will give him pleasue. Lord make this an exciting job, one that he will trully enjoy.
I ask you Lord to be with Pepper, ease her mind and surround her with your perfect love.

Hi! Your situation sounds tough. I sympathise with you and I know what it's like when your husband is not working. Mine lost his job a few years back, and before he could get another one, he got very unhappy and frustrated.

I think a job means so much to men. No matter what they say, they do like to be the family's providers and look after us. If they can't do that, deep inside they feel failures and think they've let us down. A job also gives them an identy and a focus.

Some people are really suited for retirement and some are not. So if your husband is well and happy to work, why stop? So let's pray that he will soon find a job that he is happy with and gives him fullfilment.

Keeping you in my prayers, Maya

You are right about some people just not suited for retirement. When he first decided to go for retirement, it was with the idea of getting another job because the pension would not be great.

But I did think that leaving the stressful job would give him the time and energy to do the things around the house that he never had time or energy for. Boy, was I wrong!

Obviously he needs to work! With all the prayers going up, he should be finding something soon!

    Blessings to you.
