scheduled to be sent to IRAQ after the intense 3 months training. He has several illnesses that would put him and his comrades at horrible risk.

Mysterioulsy, none of the medical problems were ever entered into his medical records???

When he signed up 4 years ago, the Recruiter was adament that he answer "NO" to the question that asked if he ever sleptwalked. Now we know why - the guard would never have accepted him.

    He sleepwalks

He has night terrors where he wakes screaming as though he is being attacked

    He has Mitral Valve Prolapse

    He has exercise-induced asthma

and lastly, the has something worse that shin-splints - that makes the pain of running unbearable.

The comrades and sgt.'s are mocking him for bringing this up now and doubt the seriousness of some of his ailments.

We sent them copies of all the medical records we had, as well as wrote them a letter regarding the sleep walking and night terrors.

We are bringing him to our pulmonologist and back to the cardiologist who treated him initially and ran all the tests. He just returned from 4 days of active duty at the local barracks and said he hae 2 different episodes of shooting chest pains in the last 4 days. He was afraid to seek medical attention because of the mockery going on.

I do know that there will be a medical meeting at some point to determiine whether it is safe to be sent to IRAQ,
but I want our own doctors to tell whether he would be o.k. medically if he was sent. i want my own set of medical notes for obvious reasons.

This is my first time at this Board - I am usually at the CFids/fibrmyalgia board.

I want to thank all of you wonderful pwople for your prayers that the Guard does not send him to the middle east, but rather give him a medical discharge.

If I'm not asking too much, would you incllude a prayer for my 18-1/2 year old that he matures and stops hanging around the wrong people.

Thank you so much for your prayers and I will continue with mine.

    God Bless You all.

Welcome to the worship board. We are glad you joined us to ask for prayer. I will be praying for you sons and your family that these situations get worked out.

You still have time and hope that his medical records will show he shouldn`t be there. Keep trying and it will work out.

    Best wishes,

and thank you so much for your support as well. I know that all of this is in God's Hands, but praying to him directly never hurts and it lets him know what help you need.

God Bless you, Sandy. May you find forever peace in your life,

    Lots of tender hugs,

I will keep you and your boys in my prayers. But I also have suggestion. My brother also listened to a recruiter and lied about a serious knee injury. He never made it through basic. He did spend 3 months in a military hospital in traction.

Contact your congressman and tell him everything about your son's health and that the recruiter told your son to lie. There is a very good chance that he can help you.

In the meantime I'll keep praying

Thank you so much for your suggestions. What blows me away is that no one put anything in writing in my son's medical records at the guard about the disorder that's worse than shin splints - he could have taken the medical discharge then, but he was too committed. And not one single copy of all the medical records regarding his Mitral
valve prolapse. What in the world did the Army do with those records? This is definitely leaving a sour taste in my mouth about our military. Not our soldiers, but the higher ups.

I'm going to take your suggestion and write my congressman!

    Thanks so mucvh Lois,

Lot of hugs and prayers for you,

I would be glad to pray for your sons.

    Dear Heavenly Father;

I pray for this young man that is in the service and is being mocked and mistreated to the point where he is enduring danger of his health due to the insisitivity of the military. Lord, there were lies told that got him into the military in the first place , about his true health issues, I ask that you free him from this service and allow him to go home for treatment.

I also pray for the 18 year old, that is choosing the wrong people to influence him. Lord, I pray that you remove these type of friends and send someone into his life that loves you and will give him guidance and nurture him into Your will and Kingdom.

I pray for Sunshine, that her heart be at rest in You and that her prayers be answered on behalf of her sons whom she loves so much, as do You, dear Father.

I ask this in the precious name of Jesus, Amen.

God Bless you sunshine, love to you, blessings

absolute miracle and I can not thank all of you enough!!!!

My son was scheduled to leave this coming Wednesday, 5/19/04 to go to Ft Hood, TX for 2-1/2 mos., then Ft. Erwin, CA for 6 weeks, then on to Iraq.

He was just told, 5 days before departure, in the last hour of the work day, by a Sgt. that came in and told him that he rec'd the papers that he was medically undeployable!!!

I know that you all can only imagine what we have gone thru in the last 2 months - but we knew so many prayers were going up to God in his Glory!

Thank you all again! May God Bless each and every one of you!

My son has the sleep walking and night terrors. He is almost 17. I would suggest that you insist on an EEG and consult with a neurologist. My son was recently diagnosed with epilepsy. Apparently the type of epilepsy he has is active at night. He had a severe seizure two years ago and experienced a brain injury.
That is when he was diagnosed with epilepsy (but only after I insisted on seeing a neurologist and a 48 hour EEG - which shows sleep brain patterns). The only reason I was so concerned is that two years before my sons seizure a friend's son died during his sleep (having a seizure). He had only had a couple of mild seizures before that. It turns out my son has exactly the same seizure disorder.

We went to a specialist and the first questions he asked us after seeing my sons CT scans is did he ever sleep walk and did he have night terrors. No one had ever asked us those questions, or ever even seemed concerned about them.

You may want to investigate your sons situation. Many people are never diagnosed with epilepsy until they are adults. A medical college did a study last year which suggested that about 1/3 of people with sleep disorders have epilepsy. How many have epilepsy and don't realize it?

    Just a thought,

the possibility of epilepsy up with regard to Adam's sleep walking and night terrors. I woud never have thought of it. My husband has told me and Adam that he used to sleep walk as a teenager - but that stopped numerous years ago. So I kind of looked at it as a hereditary trait - but my hubby NEVER had night terrors.

I will follow through on this and let you know the outcome.

Thank you so much my Angel!

God is sooooooooooooooooooo GOOD! And isn't He faithful? I don't come to this board very often, not often enough. Such wonderful people here who love the Lord.

When I prayed for your sons, I just knew that God would be faithful in answering our petitions to Him.

Things like this just make me love Him more.

Now we will continue to pray for your 18 year old son. I have a daughter who has strayed away from the Lord. My heart is heavy at times but, I know that God has a plan for her life. In Christ, caj

Just to show you how common this seizure disorder is my mom just called me to tell me that our friend's great nephew died this morning from an early morning seizure (they think). He hadn't been diagnosed before, but this is what the death looks like. He will be autopsied. He was almost 16 years old.

I have heard of so many of these cases it is just unreal. Maybe I just remember them more or pay more attention because I have personal experience with it, but I keep hearing of so many cases of late adolescent, young adult diagnosis of epilepsy and also deaths and injuries related to seizures. It is sad and frustrating.

Keep us informed on getting your son evaluated. I will be praying for him.

Hope, I've already made my son aware and he's ready to go to the Neurologist - NOW! We have to wait to find out if he is still covered under the Military's Tri-Care program or if they've already dropped him. He's too old to put on my hubby's policy so he needs to get back on BC/BS (My Cobra carrier dropped him for 1 Qtr. because he was shy 1 or 2 credits, so he took out a policy with BC/BS.

As soon as I know he definitely is covered under a health plan, then we can pursue this quickly. A bunch of medical bills are starting to hit and even with insurance the amounts still make me sick!!!

I promise to keep you posted. I am so sorry for the loss of another teen from a seizure. I will keep that family in my prayers! Hugs, Sunshine8957

CAJ - You are so right about the Lord Almightly and the miracles that he and his son are responsible for. I have been touched by the Lord numerous times, but certain times the entire situation seems to jump out at you!

Slowly, we are getting through to our youngest son. We are trying to get him to come to Church with us on Sundays, by appealing to the teen in him. White Dove has an enormous teen building that offers multiple pool tables,
fooz ball, a giant t.v. screen, etc., etc., . I know that
his best friend wants to come to church with us because he knows there is a God and he needs Him in his life.

I don't know how people can deal with life in general when they don't have God in it!

Hopefully, I'll be able to share more good news about these kids letting God into their hearts and souls.

Big Hugs and God Bless all of you!
