And info for those new to boards. This is good info for everyone here who has not read it.

We still have people posting webiste URL's. Some know it is against the rules and have tried getting creative about posting them, like spelling out the dot and the com. This just increases Shirl's and my workload as we end up deleting these. We are volunteers who simply cannot be everywhere at once. We depend on our members to follow the rules and let us know when there are problems on the board.

Thank you all for your continuing help to keep this the safe, caring, and informative place that it is.

    Love, Mikie

It would probably help all of us if you could tell us how we can direct people who are looking for more info on a particular subject without giving the URL. Could you give us some examples?

Alot of us used to get information from books. We are allowed to post book titles and authors. But this is the internet age, and alot of us now get our information from websites. Information we would love to share with our fellow FM'ers because it may help them.

I'm trying to think of a way to do this........can you help?

    Thanks so much,
    Donna

There is no way to know whether some sicko who lurks here is sending people to a porn sight or a site for cults of some kind. ProHealth cannot control what is presented on other websites. It isn't just to keep this site from being used to advertise competitors' products but to also protect our members.

A URL is what is displayed in the address window at the top of the screen. It is the complete address of the website. Example: ImmuneSupport is the name of our website; www.immunesupport.com is the URL which will take you to the Home Page.

If someone cuts and pastes an article, he or she needs to credit the author. If a website says not to reproduce any information from that site in any form for distribution, do not cut and past it as that is copyright infringement. You can tell where you found it and we can use a web search for getting to the article itself. Most of us are able to do web searches using Google or Yahoo. If not, it is a skill well worth picking up.

Thanks for your cooperation on this.

I've never known what the acronym (is it an acronym???)URL stands for. Secondly, are you saying in your post above that I CAN mention, for example, I found such and such
at Immunesupport but CANNOT say I found such and such at Immunesupport.com??? That is how I understand it; but I was wrong once before in my life. Ha! You can mention a name, I guess, but not a website URL???
    P.S. How was the vacation.
